Default Gamecube Only?

It disappoints me that this site's request for writers only stems to those who wish to write about the Gamecube. There are many regular visitors ot this site who own PS2's and in my case, XBox's.

I would love to write for GameTavern but I don't have a Gamecube, I have an XBox. So I guess this means I'm not invited.

I guess I just thought this site was called GameTavern, and not CubeTavern. ....

*becomes jaded aand cynical*

I think it's because becoming a multi-console site would be that much more complicated than focusing on just one console for now. The administrators would have to change the site layout and hire just as many Xbox and PS2 writers as they have GameCube writers. Easier said than done.

Maybe the the site could be broken up in a perentage ratio. Gametavern IS dominated by Gamecube fans, but Maybe they could break up the contribution to the site by instaed of having it be 100% Gamecube, have it be 60% Cube, 20% PS2 and 20% XBox.

That way the divisions could be made more along the lines of the Forum demographic, and Gametavern could even grow more as a site by attracting a more diverse selection of gamers.

But then again, there are probably all kinds of flow issues and bandwidth issues too because 3 new sections would need to be made instead of just one.

Oh well, it was just an idea.

Well I always thought GT should go multi-platform but like Xanny brought up there is just too many issues to deal with. I mean with time I'm sure they could work it out but GT is no one's life so I don't think it should be anyone's life issue to get it to work. So give it time.

GameTavern IS a GameCube site... just like Nintendose was (and is).

But I don't care, I never go to the main page anyway because it sucks. *prepares to get banned*

Well, the idea of GT was to eventually go multi platform... but it's not moving along as fast as it should/

It's called Game Tavern. Does that indicate any sort of GameCube exclusive? No.

Well, I was told that the site was going to become a multi-console site. But then I got impatient, and I asked when it was changing. PureEvil told me he wasn't sure when, if ever! So that was the end of my editor job, because I wanted to write news for PS2 and GBA.

Oh, and about the amount of editors that are needed.

PS2 : Me, Perfect Stu

XBox : Bond, Strangler

GBA : Me, whoever.

But, I am not sure if all of these people are qualified writers... if there is a thing. Especially that Joeiss character.

Mmm-kay... Yeah.

Well, here's the deal... Sooner or later, we plan to make GameTavern a multi-console site. But, as BreakABone said, just give it time. We're in no sudden hurry.

GameTavern, as Angrist mentioned, is a GameCube site. The plan was never to go multi-console, but that rather just came into view over time, as things progressed.

As for it being called "GameTavern," well, don't take that for anything more than the name of the site. That name was specifically chosen so that this place would never be limited to one specific console. When it was first opened, it was planned on being a GameCube-related site. They (Cam and Crash) just called it "GameTavern" so they wouldn't be roped into covering a certain console or company. That way, if one day they decided to change over to covering Sony, they could. The name is un-biased as far as what it can enclose is concerned.

The original plan, however, was to cover the Nintendo GameCube. That name just provided some sway regarding what they could provide coverage for (If it had been named "CubeTavern," they couldn't just switch over to PS2 coverage one day, could they?).

As for when we're going to make our changes... Well... We aren't really sure. BigJustinW said, "...but it's not moving along as fast as it should." You don't know that. For all anyone knows about the site's status, it could be ready to launch multi-console tomorrow (It isn't, of course, but it could be. ).

If things go the way we want them to, GameTavern will (one day) cover more than just the GameCube. Things just aren't ready quite yet. Still planning, still planning.

And as for deciding who could write what... Well, don't get too excited about that just yet. When the time comes, and when we've decided on what exactly we're going to cover/how exactly we're going to cover it, we'll make those calls. The multi-brand GameTavern is still a long way off. No rush yet.
