Fable
We were promised the world. What we got was about 3 city blocks worth, what everyone seems to forget is that they weren't in Compton.
Yes, it may be one of the most over-hyped games of all time. Many of the promised features were taken out, despite the fact that the game was delayed several times and the lost chapters probably should have been a patch.
...The thing is, what they left in, was great. The combat was fun, character building was a blast, sure it wasn't the first game to use the evil/good dynamic but it did a good job of it. The graphics and sound were outstanding, and the world did evolve around you. The world was a little too small, and the game was a little too short, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It never quite had the charm of an Ocarina of Time, but the rest of the game
felt like OoT and that’s hardly a bad thing.
I
loved every minute I spent playing Fable, and I think it’s a shame that it’s going to be remembered more for what it wasn’t than for what it was. Fable is a great game that deserves to be considered one of the best of a generation and I hope if you’ve never played it you consider going back and dropping $20 on it and giving it a spin.
