My favourite part is this:
Quote:
Knight, who had a vasectomy at age 25, emphasizes VHE likes kids and says many of its members are parents as well as children.

Because if you're alive, technically, you're a child. So in that aspect,
everyone is a child.
And so what about Humans destroying the Earth. Seriously, so what.
Survival of the fittest, right? We, humans, are the fittest. Maybe not one on one with a grizzly bear, but we can make guns to kill that bear. In this case, the bear is the Earth. We are fitter than the Earth. The earth has been here for billions upon billions of years, through many colossal events. While I know humans have changed the Earth in the past 200 years more than it has been changed ever over the rest of its history, humans will
not become the end of the Earth.
And why? Simple.
We need the Earth to survive. If the Earth dies, we die.
Therefore, I can conclude when the Earth comes close to dying, or getting ruined, we, as the main inhabitants of this twirling elliptical sphere of water and dirt, would find an alternate way of living without causing it so much harm. Because at that point and time, the whole "humans greatly affect the planet" thing should be visable. Considering now, most people dont take it seriously. And why? Because we'll be dead before anything happens.
But why worry anyways? In 5 billion years our sun will envelop the Earth as it becomes a Red Giant before swelling back down to a White Dwarf.
So in the end, all this save the Earth crap seems a little anti-climactic.
