Gun is a game that intrigues me, and that I root for. The Western genre is one that has not been explored very often in video games, and when it has been explored it has been a disappointment. Gun, on the other hand, seems to see the subject matter for what it should be.
Adventure, with a side of action.
Too often developers have misinterpreted the Western as being simply a quick-twitch shoot `em up, when GOOD Westerns (movies) have always been about the allure of true
freedom and all the dangers that can go along with it.
Gun is a game that looks to finally give the Western genre of games that sense of freedom, through open ended gameplay and a wide open world for you to explore full of side quests, but with what is promised to be an engaging main quest and storyline. Plus, there are mounted cavalry battles... ROCK.
I'm not saying this is going to a great game, as there are some targeting issues that are brought up. I just HOPE that this will be a great game, as I think the Western is a genre that can be a great one for video games.
