Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
That is a bit too far. But it wasn't directly the games fault, if you stayed up that long it may happen to you as well. You just need to motivation.

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
Something like this had happened before, in South Korea again. Only that time, instead of "a battle simulation", he was playing Counter-Strike.
Newspapers over here went ballistic that our youth was playing the game in cafes all around the country, and even started to say the game should be banned.
And leaving to go to the toilet and take brief naps? Sounds just like a med student during finals...

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
Kinda sad this thing seems to happen so often.
Wish I could find a game I could become so enthralled in that I would risk death. See, the Revolution is health conscious. You'd stop playing due to muscle fatigue before your heart has time to give out. Would like to see someone wave their arm about for 50 hours.

I heard someone else who had died, played 48 Hours straight of Halo 2, ended up dying.

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
see, thats what you call stupid
i really don't think that these people should deserve pity, since what they're doing is simply giving ammo to people like jack thompson who are convinced that videogames are the digital reincarnation of the devil. But just out of curiousity, I would like to know what battlesim he was playing? my guess: C&C: Generals: Zero Hour

That's what he gets for trying to be better than the other gamers. Selfish, greedy boy pays the ultimate price.
Remember that ytmnd.com link someone posted here of the WoW kid that was screaming and swearing toward someone else for a stolen item?
This South Korean kid was probably a real nut job like that.

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
I probably played Animal Crossing for a solid period of time longer than any other game. But that's nice and peaceful.
I played Meteos nonstop during a 6 hour plane ride but that was to keep my mind off my stomach ache. And then continued playing for another 5 hours after I got home. Did end up beating the game and unlocking every single thing there was to unlock.

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
i tend to play rpg's for a substantial period of time at a time, but even those, after 6 hours max i'll take a rest and eat and go outside.

Yet another guy dies from too much play time. I seriously need to know what game can captivate someone for 10 straight days without sleep.

Re: Man dies after 50 hours of computer games
I can't imagine playing a game for 50 hours straight, but of course I haven't found a game I'm that enthralled in.
I think the longest I've played a game was about 8 hours. But my mom pulled a 12 hour shift one time.
