Pretty neat if you ask me. This will come in early next week. I already read P&P, but I liked it and it was someone's favorite.

Ordered it from bol.com, which I don't think exists in the USA.

Couldn't resist giving this forum some extra life.

War of the Worlds is good.

Canterbury, Macbeth, and Huckleberry are school books which automatically makes them bad.

Twenty-thousand leagues sounds good.

Never heard of North and South.

And I have a feeling Pride and Prejudice is just a super, long boring book. If it doesn't have adventure or cool gadgets, it won't be enjoyable.

I absolutely hate the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

However, most of those other books are really great reads, and I'll have read most of them by the end of the year. I wouldn't buy them, though (except maybe Macbeth) because any respectable library would have them anytime you wanted one.

I started reading the Canterbury Tales today, and it's alright. Sometimes it's really hard for me to get into this old writing (except for Shakespeare). I mean, I have mad respect for Chaucer, he was a literary genious. I have no idea how he came up with so many unique rhymes, all in iambic pentameter. I could never repeat that in a million years.

I'm going to read Pride and Prejudice before the years over, mostly because it's a classic, not because I'll enjoy reading it. I just try to be really well read, and challenge myself by reading things I don't particularly enjoy *cough*Turn of the Screw*cough*.

I'm reading Tess of the D'urbervilles for my lit class, and I have to say..

Thomas Hardy sucks.

Seriously.

And the main character is a ****ing retard.

On a side note, I'm reading Tuesdays with Morrie... and so far, it's really good. :]

I don't like Canterbury Tales, because it's written in old english, which makes it quite hard to understand, and because it is not even close to finished.

My dad absolutely loves Chaucer though, so maybe you'll enjoy it.

Old English is cool.

Perhaps I have an advantage, because I 'had to' learn a couple of languages because I'm Dutch.
They sent 5/7 of the order last friday, so I guess I'll get them in today.

But first I'm gonna finish my religous book (Mankind's Search for God, very enlighting) and read A Game Of Thrones.

My brother is kinda into these fantasy books and this one seems to be very good.

Congo, The Andromeda Strain, and Eaters of the Dead by Micheal Chrichton are both great reads and fairly cheap. I picked up Congo at a garage sale for .50 cents and it was in fairly good condition.

I have Congo, Sphere and Eaters Of The Dead in 1 book. Only read Congo so far.

I also have Prey ready here, but I heard that it's not that great.

You should know (if you don't already) that AGoT is the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series. So far, the series is three books long, with a fourth book on the way. Don't worry, this isn't like Robert Jordan where each book is bigger than the Bible, but the plot progresses slower than a 1,000,000 word story about a man corssing the street; Martin has a purpose with his books, and you will be hooked by each one.

FYI, the next two books are called A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords. The fourth book that will soon be released (in America anyway; don't know about you...) is called A Feast for Crows.

I know, I think my brother has those other parts as well. I'm really looking forward to it.

At the moment I'm trying to finish some essays and stuff, because I'm afraid I don't have time for that once I start reading. I read Congo in less than 3 days.

(I'm a very slow reader, but when I read a good book, I put much time into it.)

Seems like A Feast For Crows was released. But it's only half a book... with half of the main characters. The rest is for A Dance With Dragons, which could be done within a year.
But I still have to read part 2 and 3. (Talking about Song of Ice and Fire here)

damn, 7.99 for hardcover? thats hard to come by these days, but I just picked up this book, Darwin Awards, its about people and the stupid **** they do to either really hurt themselves, or kill themselves.
