Actually, plenty stands in Apple's way. Besides, Apple makes very little from the sale of Mac OS X. They bring in the money with hardware sales. How quickly people forget the Macintosh clones.
And before you waste your time with this, like Bond, do realize all Mac beta OS have a shut off date, where they will no longer work. They also are designed to run on only one single hardware configuration, and while people have gotten it to work decently with a very close setup, installing it on your PC is a gamble. It's also not optimized, and you can't just go online and find yourself a driver.
The retail Mac systems include a special identifying code embedded inside the processor, so don't expect to be able to do this with the retail OS. If you want a Mac, buy a Mac. Otherwise, stop bitching and finish your reinstall
