August 4, 2005 - Midway has both love and loss for PC gamers this week. The company has confirmed that it has dropped the PC version of Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows -- which is now scheduled for release this winter on PlayStation 2 and Xbox. As if for balance, however, Midway has also announced that L.A. Rush will arrive on the PC in November, a month after its console counterparts.
The company mentioned a PC version of the latest Gauntlet adventure at this year's E3, but a Midway spokesperson told IGN today that development on this version never actually began. Some readers may wonder whether John Romero's departure from Midway is related to the platform change -- the famed designer was assisting with Seven Sorrows -- Midway did not offer further comment on the matter.
While hard driving is hardly the same as hard dungeon-crawling, PC gamers can look forward to the latest Rush racing title to reach desktops in November. L.A. Rush sets its action on the sun-splashed streets of Beverly Hills, Compton, Hollywood, LAX, and Santa Monica, among other spots in the City of Angels.
Look for more on the PC version of L.A. Rush as details, uh, rush in.

After I played it a bit at E3, I was very very hyped up for the new Gauntlet since I could get it for PC. The mods for it would have been very cool.
BUt alas, I'll just have to settle for the Xbox version when I get one in the next month or so
But I think it may be a sleeper hit for Midway. Not much hype surrounding it and if it stays that way, its gonna be a sleeper hit, IMO. They couldnt screw up the beauty of it at E3
