honestly man, the emu's were a great run, and if it was just this update i would be borderlined whether to update or not. because this isnt just a webbroswer, then is something else very important. a better video codec for moves on the psp. after the 2.0 update it'll support H.264 AVC mp4 videos. perhaps not important to some, but for me i was waiting for divx. i'll have to look up more but i hear this compresses a lot at good quality just like divx does. and the web browser is pretty neat itself. PLUS, it gives you background support, (real background support for PSP, i dont like pspersonalize, it screws up icons and stuff) so i'd just select what background i want and use it.
but like i said, i'd be borderlined whether to update or not. What is going to push me over is something i didnt expect yet. the games.
by christmas, 4 games will be out that if they require updating to use i will update. SSX, Guilty Gear, Virtua Tennis, and Battlefield 2.
and even more so if thoes are online. i will be totally willing to give up emu's. (im sure later on they'll find more ways to make the emu's work)
one question i've always had, is if the Web browser supports java, couldnt someone make a java based emulator that if need by you type in an internal address and it opens up the java emulator like that?
theres always gunna be ways. for now tho i'll wait. once thoes games come out i'll be saying bye bye to the emu's.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
Ideally, it would make sense to have 2 PSP's. One for EMU paradise and the other for hot new PSP games and features.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
nah, theres websites that have handhelds made so you can put emulators on them and stuff much cheaper. and i'd sure hate to buy 2 psp's now and find out 1 can do everything later on when they find a new hole to work through.
as long as they have games i'd like, i'd prolly use that more then emulators. i normally dont like handheld games. but these are a bit more like console games on a hanheld which i seem to enjoy.
Battlefield 2 is a big one tho. play it at home on PC, go on a trip and play a little on PSP. heh. great fun will be had by all.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
snes are at about 80% speed at the time. but if you change some options and turn skip frame up to like 2 maybe 3, you can get them running pretty good.
NES, GB, Genesis games all seem to be running wonderfully right now.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
So is this web-browser still using the lame keyboard on the PSP? Or will we be getting something better?
Stupid Keypad input.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
obviously it will use the key input, simular to the one on the wipeout hack, however it will have built in buttons for common internet things like www. http:// .com .net .org etc.
in the future they will have some sort of keypad addon, but i really dont mind using it with buttons, because it gives you the option to save links. so once i save the websites i goto often, i dont really have to type em in anymore.

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
Seeing as how I don't have access to wireless internet, I won't be trading my emu's for this, although it sounds cool.
I've been gone for a week...anything awesome other than this happen in the PSP world?

Re: PSP official webbrowser out
Just a question:
How do you browse the web with an analog nub and four face buttons? I guess I can see how you can move a pointer around to click a link, but how do you type in a URL? Or is that not what it does?

as far as clicking goes, i believe the D pad will cycle thro links, kinda like tab on the keyboard. and the analog 'nub' will move a mouse cursur around. so you can pick what you like to use.
then something. L or R or some button will bring up a text input. then you have buttons with the letters on that you click, just like text input on a console (without keyboard) does. and there are common quick buttons for parts like www. http:// .com .net .org and stuff like that.
Then theres a spot where you can store links like a favorites list and you can goto them right away by clicking them in the list instead of typing.
later on there should be differnet kinds of keyboard addons for it.
