Default PSP Backgrounds

Can anyone provide me with a link to the original background on the PSP? The one that moves and changes colors each month? I'm interested in changing my background, but I don't want to get stuck with one and not be able to go back to the original one, because it is pretty good.

Also, for those of you who are using custom backgrounds, if you have your PSP set to go into standby mode (or whatever it's called with the PSP screen goes black but it's still on) after a few minutes, can you still get ghost images, or does that image have to be constantly on the screen?

Hold on, don't look anymore, I found it on PSPupdates.com.

I also found a great website that has premade backgrounds...not sure if I'm allowed to post it because they have some 17+ stuff on there, but I can PM it to people that want it.

Does using custom backgrounds take up any more space on the mem card than the default ones do? And are you just using photoshop to make your icons and such?

And about the ghosting problem...my PSP screen goes black after like 2 minutes of inactivity, so that should protect me from it, shouldn't it?

1, the hack website? all the different catagories of backgrounds on it? i know of that one.

2, the only space custom backgrounds take on the mem card is when you put them on there for pspersonalize to use. once it stores them on the PSP, it copies over the backgrounds in the psp, they are no longer needed on the mem card at all after that you can delete them.
problems with them are because of thier size, they dont work perfectly, if you switch months, you might get an all white screen, which you then have to goto the change month and click on it again to make the picture come in. It also goofs up some icons like the currupt icon (which isnt important if you got rid of the currupt ones on yours)

3, yes i make them in photoshop with the right size and save them as a png, and pbp maker lets me switch the icon and background in the boot.pbp file, so it works well, i suppose i could also put in a sound like the PSPersonalize one has if i wanted.

4, what ghosting problem? protect you from what?

Like, you know how the original backgrounds move? They function as a screen saver and as a background, because if the same still image is displayed on the PSP for too long a time, it gets burnt that way, and you can see the ghost image of it forever.

But it takes like a few hours of constant viewing for it to get like that.

But just in case I accidently leave it on the desktop, I'm wondering if the automatic stand-by after a couple of minutes eliminate the problem.

the moving lines arent part of the background. no matter what image you put in as a background, the moving lines will always flow over them.

Alright, I got all my custom backgrounds on my PSP. (a different girl for every month. ) Except carmen...who is on there twice only different poses. ^_^

And yeah, the white screen thing happens to me, but I just turn the PSP off and then back on and it fixes it, and that should only be a problem once a month anyway. lol.

If I get that pbp program that you are talking about, will I need to reinstall all of my emulators and roms back onto my PSP? Becuase I'd like to get into photoshop and make some backgrounds and icons.

Also, you mentioned getting rid of the corrupt files, I don't want to make them dissapear, because that would aggravate me having something on there that I couldn't see. So what I did was went into the games folder, cut out all of the "%" folders, then pasted them back in, and on the PSP they are all now at the bottom of the list.

Why on earth would you want something on there that you cant do anything with? whats the point of seeing the currupt icons?

if you do the thing to make them dissapear, and you click on one of your emulators and tell it to delete, it deletes both that and the invisable one too that goes with it. So theres absolutly no point in seeing it at all.

But with the pbp program, its just a check box that says to hide currupt icons, you can keep em there if you want.

i'll have to show you the background i made for the genesis icon, its simple, but it looks so good on the psp. All black background, with thier old 'welcome to the next level' slogan, and sonic and knuckles standing at the right of the screen.. i just love seeing that background come up when i highlight the genesis icon. hehe.

and all i do when i redo it, is i tell it my PSP is actually one of my hard drives. then it keeps all my stuff in a PSP folder on like C drive. i copy the 2 folders and paste them over the folders on my PSP. roms stay on, but the pbp files over right and all is well.

im not sure why that doesnt work for you though..

lol

well they started off just being something quick. but as i said, once it turned on the PSP and looked at that background with the genesis one, it just looks so nice there.

NES one i was playin around with the title there, cuz when you put a background on, it no longer displays text saying what the file is. so i was tryin out writting it on there.

What are the parameters for the icons for the emulators? I downloaded the pbpmaker thing, and I'm going to start working on some images, I just don't know how many pixels x pixels they need to be, and how large a file they can be.

Thanks man, that helps.

But why are the emu backgrounds so much bigger than the regular wallpapers? They are on the same size screen.

im not sure, perhaps the emu backgrounds can be different sizes. all i did was take an already made one and use the same size to make my own, i suppose since its an emulator and not the actual system, it might be able to handle other sizes as long as they're the same perportions
