Default Game Controllers

I dunno how many of you use game controllers for your PC but those of you that do what do you reccomend? Currently I use a Gravis Gamepad Pro...but the D-pad really sucks and the wire is suppose to give me lead poisoning. I mostly need something with a good D-pad and Hori doesn't make PC controllers. Are there any good USB PS2 controllers that would work?

I do the planogram at work for game controllers, so I get to try them out.

The logitech precision is not bad, and it's cheap. Also: Logitech Dual Pro, and Logitech Rumblepad (with optional wireless).

I don't like some of the the more expensive gamepads; they feel too wonky.

If you're really hardcore you could get an adapter for a controller you already have.

Hmm, might end up buying a PS2 controller with the adapter...or an adapter for my cube controller. What's the difference between the PSX and PS2 controllers and they price difference if any? Seems like every American-made controller's D-pad is like the Xbox's where it's just a round digital pad rather than a cross like on PS2's or any of Nintendo's controllers. I use my Genesis controller for my Atari 2600. For some reason it works.

PSX controllers and PS2 controllers are different only because the PS2 has analog face and shoulder buttons. Also, PS2 has lighter rumble technology so the controller feels lighter. This won't matter on PC. Plus, PSX's just feels sturdier and more.. clicky. If you get what I mean.

At my Best Buy the clear/coloured PSX and standard PS2 controllers are the same price. But you could probably find cheaper PSX controllers since they're older.
