From the twisted mind of Tim Schaeffer, Psychonauts
So have you guys played this? It's seriously the best platformer I've ever played, possibly the best single player game. Then again, I'm a huge fan of Tim Schaeffer. He did Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max: Hit the Road, Grim Fandango, and a bunch of others for LucasArts a while ago. And man, you sure can tell it's him again.
I picked up the Xbox version the day it came out and put 11 hours into the game to beat it. That's 11 hours on the game clock, and obviously doesn't take into account loads and stuff like that, plus I had already played about 3 hours of it before I took it home to my Xbox so I whizzed through a lot of stuff. Probably would have taken me closer to 14 or 15 hours if I hadn't touched it. But there's still tons of stuff to collect and stuff so I'll be busy for a while.
Basic story premise is that you're Razputen (Raz for short), a misunderstood boy who was raised in the Circus by his father (who hates psychics because a gypsy psychic cursed all in his lineage to die in water). But one day somebody gives Raz a brochure about a summer camp for psychics and so Raz runs away to join them. But the more you get psychic techniques you're taught at the camp the more you learn about a sinister plot growing there, and it's up to you to find out what's happening and how to stop it.
