April Fools Appreciation Thread

Everyone please give our resident prankster, Dyne, a big round of applause for hosting and creating this year's ultimate GT April Fool prank. He worked late into the night and early morning (until 3 A.M.) composing this elaborate and masterfully-crafted 1984 themed joke.

If you weren't here for the fun, GameTavern was taken over by a totalitarian ruler named Big Brother. This harsh new ruler redirected all of our typical forums to a hypnotic collage ridden with propaganda. He then created a lone functioning forum called "The Court" where he began picking out individuals who didn't cooperate with the new policies. Each rebel was given their own warning thread where their charges were listed. The member was then given a special ban.

A total of 16 rebels were banned and will remain that way for the rest of today's festivites. Their accounts will be restored to normal tomorrow. Congratulations to those who conformed to Big Brother's ideals and avoided receiving the festive ban!

Stuff like this should really last the whole day. I mean, its kind of cheap that the only people who can participate are those with no lives who check the site in the morning.

At least give some of us people with no lives who check it in the afternoon a chance to see...

I would've loved to drag it on too but some people were rubbed the wrong way. Ah well, you can't avoid these things. Some people are just naturally disgruntled, and this showed it.

Gamemaster, you deserve some appreciation too. You helped set it up. And you were the first victim. And thanks to Neo, who changed the avatar to Evil Ernie; I thought it was perfect.

Well, to be fair it wasn't Neo who changed the avatar to Evil Ernie. It wasn't me either, but I know who it was.

The concept was well done, but considering the fact that I knew it was an April Fool's day joke and it got to a point where I was unable to view or post in the forum was pretty stupid.

And the whole "accidental staff forum access" thing...I dont buy that. To me, it seems like a convenient cover-up.

I DID love the evil Bert thing, though. GOLD.
