My computer specs
I just found out how to check it (I already forgot, I took a screenshot incase, and good thing too....errr....Ok....so I didnt save the screenshot...so if someone could tell me how to check some of these I can like, re-confirm)
Anyways, here are the specs, I just feel like informing you all, I dont know why, probably because I havent done it yet.
Can someone tell me if these are good, because I honestly have no idea.
2999MHz ( i think thats wrong, somehow....)
GenuineIntel
Pentium IV
180 GB
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (I think thats bad)
Realtek AC'97 Audio (I also think thats bad)
I would put more things, but I dont even understand this stuff.

right click my computer and goto properies. it'll say What your processor is, how fast its running, and your RAM.
2999Mhz is basically a 2.99ghz, which is a Pentium 4 3ghz. which is good.
180gb HD space is good.
Geforce FX5200 is pretty damn bad, unless its a 5200ultra, which isnt great but much better then a normal 5200, i think you have a normal 5200 tho.
and ac'97 is basic onboard audio. which i wouldnt say its horrible. but it certainly isnt anything great either.
if all that is correct, (dont know your ram) i'd only say you need a better gfx card.
Mine is a 2.66Ghz Pentium 4, overclocked to 3.0ghz
1gb DDR RAM
200 GB hard drive space (2 HD's)
SB Audigy sound card.
ATI Radeon 9600XT, but im going to be buying a X800 Pro 256mb soon and selling my 9600XT to my friend, he's only got a 9600SE

Re: My computer specs
P4 3Ghz
512MB Ram
110GB (apparently? Seems like an odd number for a HD)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
and some on-board sound card...
I been thinkin lately of upgrading either another 512ram, or another gig of ram... Everything else seems rather adequate for now! My problem is system cooling... Which I know nothing about... After I put the new graphics card in it started actin up what with heating and all... I just keep the side of the case off...

one is what it is, i think if your looking at the properties on 'my computer' then the first number it lists is what it is.
Then the 2nd number is what its currently running at. somtimes it'll be up a bit, somtimes down a bit. but always basically the same.
Like mine since its over clocked says..
Pentium 4 2.66ghz
3.01ghz

Do you ever have problems with overheating?

Re: My computer specs
no, pentiums are usually really good about heating, if they get too hot they automatically lower thier speed to prevent problems.
only problem i had was when i played UT2004, the UT games are really picky about that and it would give me a general fault error every so often. which got annoying so i lowed it back down to 2.66 for a while and it stoped. Well now i dont really play UT and i raised it back up and been playin HL2 and CS:S for a week or so now without a single problem. and its given me like 20 extra frames per second.
so as long as the games i play dont have any problems, it seems im fine with it. UT is the only game i've seen that doesnt like it tho.
cant wait to see what the overclock plus the X800 Pro gives me when i get that
