Default Metal Gear Solid Movie

After playing the Metal Gear Solid games, and having seen the epic of Metal Gear Solid 2 SOL and Metal Gear Solid 3 SE, I'm wondering how good of a movie they could make based on the videogame. Of course they would need some of the BEST actors to fill the roles.

When I think of Hideo Kojima, I think of the best screenwriter/script writer in the gaming industry. Reason being all of the MGS' play out like movies and have the calibur to become great films. The scripts are awesome and the dialogue is nothing short of deep. The latest installment, MGS3SE blew my mind away and captured my soul as I played it.

The next question is... if Hideo Kojima agreed to a MGS Movie....... who would play Snake? Otacon? Ocelot?

I have an idea of who would play Snake, and that would have to be,

Hugh Jackman..... we've seen him with long hair before and we've seen him play Wolverine.... he's got the perfect physical build, he has the rugged voice, and the look in my opinion.....

Ocelot....? I have no idea right now.... thats why I'm posting this.... I would like to hear everyones opinion on Actors

Actors to play the role of characters in MGS:

I think Hugh Jackman for Snake
Ian McKellan as The Legend (the sniper)

Anyone else? or any changes to Snake?

Now picture his staff being a Sniper Rifle:

Hollywood doesnt care about making a movie based on GOOD games

But I'd have to think about who can play who. Just anyone but Vin Diesel, PLEASE!

I like Hugh Jackman as Snake, but here is another suggestion. Why not have David Hayter play Solid Snake, after all he is an actor and he does the voice of Snake in all the Metal Gear Solid games. It would be awsome to have the actual voice talent of Snake to actually be Snake in the movies.

Here's a pic of David Hayter, he could be made to look like Snake if he grew a mulllet.

As much as I hate these "who should play who in a movie" threads (I've been keeping a close eye on Silent Hill movie buzz, and it seems like there's a new topic like this every week), I like Snake's idea of having David Hayter star in the movie...

That is if he could physically play the role of Solid Snake... And I'm not just talking about having a mullet...

Does Snake even really have a mullet? People say he does but I was always under the impression that he just had long hair which was being held back by his bandana, thus pushing it all to the back and making it LOOK like a mullet...

Yeah he has a mullet.... When he is just Jack in MGS3, and no bandanna... it's LIKE a mullet but not an obvious mullet.

In any case, I agree with you. David Hayter may play his voice and may need a mullet like hair style, but he would also need to physically fill the shoes of Snake.

We've seen Hugh Jackman as Wolverine... 'nuff said.

Well, Wolverine isn't Snake... Wolverine is more about brute power, Snake about stealth and agility. Those are different kind of moves....

Wolverine is about Agility, and Stealth, because he has natural instincts of the feline. The only brute power he has are the adamantium claws. And his attitude.

But notice he is always the one sniffing out the guards and their positions. When they were attacking the mansion in X2, Wolverine took out half the guards in stealth.

David Hayter would need strength, agility, and stealth.
Hugh Jackman has strength, agility, and it's always easy to be stealthy in a movie where the guards can ACT like they don't know he's there, LOL.

But the question at hand isn't about Hugh Jackman... its if Hayter can do all those hanging off of ledges for long periods, and agility to do rolls and CQB with The Boss...

speaking of which... anyone think of a tough-chick to play The Boss?

Speaking of hanging of ledges and rolling, have you ever heard of 'stunt doubles' and 'CGI'?
Not that I like those (I love to know that they do their own stunts [like Minority Report and The Matrix]), but anything is possible.

I'm sure they dont need stunt doubles to do body rolls and firing weaponry while in motion, and doing what Snake does in the game in terms of Combat Manuevers..... And hanging of ledges.... just hanging off of them and shifting to one side isn't hard to do.... again no stunt doubles there...

The only stunt doubles that would probably be needed is when Snake is running from a huge ass metal gear or flip and jumping off of high cliffs and trees.

But I said justing hanging off ledges and combat manuevers... I mean Keanu Reeves was really fighting and doing wire work.... '(cept for the fight with 1000 Mr. Smith's and flying)

That's what I meant... you were worried and I comforted you.

Hm, I sounded a bit too much like GM there.

Who's to say that David Hayter wouldn't be able to do the physical parts of being Solid Snake. I had a hard time finding a good picture of him, but even in that picture he looks pretty physically fit.

I will see if I can find a better picture of him.

Interesting fact: David Hayter did the screewrites for both "X-Men" and "X-men 2." He also played the musuem cop in "X-Men."
