Default PSP getting more movies

I guess they're really serious about this feature of the system. I'm still uncertain if it'll fly, but at least there'll be a decent variety of films to choose from.

For those who plan on getting a PSP at some point; are you at all interested in this feature?

Well I have preordered one, and I, personally, dont really care about the feature. Sure its cool but why would I buy another movie for the same price, and the same things?

Edit: Dont get mad at me, its only opinion on my part...

I'm slightly more interested in this software if i were to watch movies on the PSP
you can copy a DVD into a video small enough to fit on the PSP mem card, yet looks in pretty damn good quality. http://www.makayama.com/soon.html

they made the DVD to PocketPC software a while ago, and i tried that, i copied Back to the Future onto my mem card for my PocketPC, and it looked actually very good. not DVD quality. but close enough to wear some might not notice. sure if you play it on the normal computer it looks horrible. lol. but smaller screeens having a smaller resolution you dont notice.

This software allows you to transfer video, tv-series and movies to your Sony Playstation Portable and enjoy them in fullscreen on the gorgeous LCD-monitor of the PSP. You can take a movie from your DV-camcorder, from your harddrive, DVD or from any other source and convert it into a small file, which is optimised for playback with the PSP built-in video player.
Anywho, if i were to watch movies and things on PSP, then thats what i'd do, i certainly wouldnt buy movies just for that.

The movies I would want to watch on the go wouldn't be main stream enough to make it to UMD. The PS3 should let us burn DVDs to UMD.

A bit like Null, I'd use it if I could see my own (ripped) movies. I wouldn't buy extra movies.

That is, if I ever get a PSP (unlikely).

Portable DVD Player is enough for me

But if I had a PSP and the ability to store a movie or 2 (DECENT quality) on a Memory stick, I may. But I dont have enough cash sitting around to just blow on a 1-2 gig sony memory stick

i wouldn't go for the Sony 1 gig mem sticks anyways. They charge in between 230-300 for it while SanDisk has their 1 gig for 120 online. It's not so bad when you look at all you are going to store on it.

actually believe it or not, the thing that converts a full DVD onto a memory card for the pocket PC is done on under 128mb and actually looks quite good for what it is. as i said, tiny resolution. looks fine on a small screen like that. but on normal pc, aside from taking up like 1/100th of the screen, anything bigger wouldnt look good.

but looks good on the small screen and doesnt take up much space. so i would assume the same on the PSP

Oh yeah, I know how its not hard to "down-convert" a movie to fit the resolution of a handheld like the PSP and retain good quality and save a ton of space with the lower resolution. I'd rather fit a couple of movies in case
