TV Series Idea

I'm stuck watching TV today. And Sunday's mornings, what is usually on TV? Well, at least in Idaho (Basic TV), 3 channels are infomercials. But I know you guys have at least been caught watching them things.

Well, I don't know if anybody has heard of that show called "MythBuster". It is shown on the Discovery Channel.. you have to love that channel. Where they get all the myth's that our in society and see how true they are. Things like peeing on an electrical fence, what would happen if a bird hit a planes windshield, should you answer your phone when filling up your car. Things like that. The whole Urban Legends. So here is my idea. InfomercialBusters. You get on TV with a lot of products that have been shown and you test them. So people really know how well they work (or not). You could cover anything. Cooking devices, Workout machines, home products, you name it. If you have seen it, you could test it. Here is the reason I think it would work. You aren't supposed to be an expert on the product you are buying, they are meant for everyday people. So if it doesn't work for you, why would it work for the other people out there.

I'm sure a network would be happy to sponsor you with this idea.

So there is my idea. With as many infomercial out there, you know that you would have at least 10 series lined up.

that would be so funny to watch... but i wonder if you could get away with it... is there any way the companies could sue you for showing how crappy their products are? anyone have any law info on this type of thing?

Heck there is a law for everything. But I'm sure you could find some loopholes in the law so you don't get slammed. I mean, everything gets reviewed. Movie, Musics, Games, Books, why not Infomercial products. Imagine if this series took off, the infomercial people would actually have to release good products.

However, any station that signs on your show would likely lose all their infomercial customers. They aren't likely to want to support the same station that host a show that is bashing their products.

If you were able to bring in more viewers (and normal commercials) then the infomercials that would equal more money. How could a TV network pass that up. Or you could always go with a cable network.
