Re: Wouldn't it make sense?
I like to think that are forums do not consist of fanboys. I think it's what separates us from most forums. Each of us here has their favorite system and handheld and favorite game companies. But most of our members here place higher up on the intellect list and support their opinions with thought-out, intelligent responses. Once in a while we have arguments that get kind of barbaric but for the most part, our debates are interesting and enjoyable. And besides, it's only natural to get heated once a while, we're human.
If you have a subjective thread, the best place to put it is in The Dungeon.
I disagree with your comment regarding the sole entity of this place being fanboyism. While we're all united here by the common love of video-gaming, a large portion of our discussion takes place in the General Talk. We're a closely knit community and enjoy talking with each other about everything. Ranging from favorite foods, to fond memories, to warm birthday wishes. We've even gone deeper by allowing for personal Blogs where members can post about special events in their own lives. Some are light-hearted and funny and others are serious or emotionally sensitive.
As a relatively new and inactive member, perhaps you see things differently. I think part of it has to do with getting to know your fellow members and being actively involved. When you've been here long enough to know other people's personalities and quirks, the fanboy arguing you're perceiving is really just friendly banter. Kind of the same type of debating you might have with a close friend or sibling.
I've kind of strayed from your main point. So, for your future reference, and for other people, if you thread is subjective or not directly focused on one system or game, put it in the Dungeon.
