Video Camera
I'm planning on asking for a video camera/digital camera hybrid for Christmas. I am wanting one that I can shoot good quality video's with, and take good digital pictures as well. I want to be able to upload my video's to my computer for editing, and I want it to be around $200 (or down as far as you want to go, as long as it is still of good quality).
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Vampy

Re: Video Camera
Here's one that's under $200. It's a camera and video camera. It can also be a webcam, MP3 player, voice recorder, and portable hard drive. The video camera capability is TV quality and the camera has 4 MP. It's normal price is $149.99 but here at Best Buy it's $142.49
Great deal in my opinion.

Thanks for the link, GM! That does sound liek a sweet machine. I'm going to go to Best Buy soon and see if I can find something like this one.
Does anyone know if they make digital video cameras that can also record onto a video tape?

buu... i think that most digi cams can be transferred to vhs, you just need the right cables etc...

I would question the reliability of the brand name, but yea, that sounds like a helluva deal...

The digital video cameras record onto a smaller tape called a DV tape and then you can buy a VHS adapter which is like a normal tape except there's an area for you to stick the DV tape into it. Then you can just pop it into your VCR like a normal tape. You can also hook the camera up to the TV with provided cables to view your footage.

Re: Video Camera
if you're looking for something cheaper than DV there's also Digital8... Which are small white tape things... At least I think it's cheaper... I know it's older...
But if you mean VHS and not just a non-digital backup of sorts, then you gotta follow them crazy instructions of other people...
