Re: NFL 2011-2012
Tebow annoys me and I would rather not see him succeed.
Every time I see an athlete thank God and Jesus for their success, it annoys me. Really? You think that even on the off chance that there is a God, he would take the time to help you become a successful football player rather than use his cosmic powers to save starving children in Africa?

I probably should have qualified what I said in that I've noticed a lot of hate for Tebow by the virtue of the fact that I've noticed so many people talking about him for no apparent reason.
Also, it's clear the NFL needs to implement a mercy rule for the Indianapolis Colts.

If you didn't Peyton Manning was one of the greatest QB's of all time, you should now.
With PM: Playoff team.
Without PM: One of the worst teams I've ever seen play.

It's amazing how true this is. I just can't believe how BAD the Colts are. Most of the same personnel from last year is still on the team right?

I think so, but I also think this may be true for more teams than we think.
Saints? Packers? Both teams would probably be .500 at best without Brees and Rodgers.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
Yeah, unless you have a super dominating defense, you probably won't go too far in the NFL without a good to great QB. I'd say the Ravens and Jets kind of get by, and I don't consider Flacco or Sanchez elite...They're pretty good game managers though I guess.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
If last night's game was any indicator, Flacco has a lot of work to do...
I thought Indy had a couple close games this season and their defense was doing alright. It could partially be a momentum swing, and they probably feel defeated knowing that Manning is going to be out for the rest of the season.
I can't imagine feeling compelled to play defense when you're quickly down 24 points in the first quarter (or whatever the score was) with a rookie QB.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
Looks like the Eagles are back on the upswing.
I think it's very difficult to tell who the good teams are this year (even more so than previous years). Packers, Steelers, and 49ers all look solid, but beyond that I'm not so sure.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
I'm having a hard time deciding if some teams are good or if most teams are just very bad this year.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
For the first time since I was a little kid I can stand up and say that I am proud to be a 49ers fan. Maybe proud isn't the right word yet. Content. That's the one. I don't want to get ahead of myself here. I'm not exactly Montana-Rice confident yet, but I'm getting there.

I agree to a point, but there is a big difference between a .500 team and the steaming pile of cow flop that is the Colts without Manning.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
Forum fan showdown. Eagles vs. Bears. Thoughts, KG?
Gotta say I like the Eagles at home here. Despite the bad start, they are on track to be 5-4 going into the big Giants game in a couple of weeks. The Bears ain't bad. I just hope Matt Forte is upset enough with his contract to lay an egg against the Eagles run defense. Or that the Eagles use their best strategy, which is to build an early lead (with an offense that has punted less than any other team), and then force teams into passing situations. From there, a better than average pass rush from the front 4 combined with a good secondary can do the rest.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
This game bothers me; a bit of a trap game after the Dallas drubbing. The Eagles should win, but that's if they can avoid turnovers.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
Good game last night. I think there's a very real possibility that the NFC North could produce three playoff teams: Packers, Lions, and Bears ... I'm not sure when the last time this happened, but I'd have to assume it's fairly rare.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
That was an intense game last night, yeah. I think the Eagles have an explosive offense to rally for a real playoff run so I'm not discounting them yet.
I think the Bears still have huge issues and inconsistencies. I really don't see the Bears going to the playoffs...but I guess we can see how the Bears vs Lions game plays out.
Speaking of...I think the NFC Wildcard race is pretty hot. I honestly think if the Bears lose next week they will be done. If the Lions lose then we can talk about a 3-team NFC North Wildcard race, but I still am skeptical.
Concerns with the Bears: O-line, coaching and play calls, wide receivers dropping passes, Cutler's health, Matt Forte's contract, Defensive health (without Peppers our defense really goes south fast).
Big concern: for the second year in a row, the Bears are rallying and bring a bunch of hype with them. We need to see organizational changes, and this is not you how make that happen.
