I am really, really pissed off with my PS2
My PS2 has been giving me problems for a while now. I got my PS2 near launch, so it's one of the earlier models. I've done nothing wrong with it and treated it perfectly just like all my other game consoles. About 7 months ago I did the whole Lens cleaning method from GameFAQs.com. I opened up my PS2 and wiped the lens with a Q-Tip with a tiny drop of alcohol on it... After I did that, my Kingdom Hearts started working again. One month later, I still took care of my PS2 perfectly and it stopped working again... I didn't really want to do that whole lens cleaning method again since it was really risky and it could have damaged my PS2 instantly. So after it stopped working again, rather than setting my PS2 horizontly, I set it vertically. After that, it was working, but just barely.
And 4 days ago, this is where I really got pissed off. I rented Dark Cloud 2 and after playing for 38 awesome minutes, my PS2 just froze and stopped working. It stopped working after that. I had Dark Cloud 2 rented and this had to happen. Luckily Blockbuster let me get F-Zero GX in exchange the next day. I want to buy a PS2 game right now, but see, I can't! I can't play any of my favorite classic PS1 games because of this... I can't do anything...
Actually, to be honest with you guys, I haven't been able to play PS1 games on my PS2 for almost 2 years now. Even when my PS2 was about 2 months old, I wasn't able to play PS1 games or PS2 demo disk CD's with a purple colored bottom on my PS2...
So you all know I can't:
Can't Play PS1 games
Can't Play Demo disks
Can't Play DVD movies
Can't Play PS2 games
Can't do just about anything except stare at the same damn screen I have seen for over 100 times now... the PS1 Browsing screen where it always would say "Disk Read Error".
So what the hell am I supposed to do here? I don't have enough money, and when I said I want to buy a PS2 game, I am not even 100% sure I will buy it or not. I have 8 PS2 games total and none of them work no matter what angle I put my PS2 as. So what I am trying to say here is that no, I won't buy a new PS2 because I can't possibly afford one... And no, I don't want to open up my PS2 and risk damaging any of the parts... I remember someone (I think Joeiss) who made a thread a while back (I couldn't find it) that mentioned him calling Sony and getting his PS2 repaired for free. Everytime I had problems with Sony hardware, Sony always had to bring in money in the picture when it wasn't even my fault... Do you think I can get my PS2 repaired for free if I call Sony or something like that? This is really annoying, someone please help out. Thanks in advance.
