Re: USA Basketball Sux
US doesn't have its best team out there... the guys out there are not an accurate representation of the best athletes in america. When I saw the final roster I expected them to lose.
If it was the best 12 (american) players in the NBA out there playing, they would be able to run over the rest of the world without trying... Sadly its a team full of players who aren't leaders and young guys. They are going to have to work.

Re: USA Basketball Sux
Hmm, if I could make the Dream Team it would be:
C: Shaq
PF: Duncan
SF: Garnett
SG: Kobe
PG: Kidd
B: TMac
B: BDavis
B: BMiller
B: Artest
B: RAllen
B: Mashburn >_>
B: AI
That's the best we could get IMO

Re: USA Basketball Sux
I dont know what it is with them. ( the USA team) I know its not their absolute best players. But the US has the best players in the world. ( or so we were led to believe) But they are all dazzle and no finish.
They dont shoot enough, they need to take advantage of the 3 point line.
Instead, ( i think vs. Lituania) one guy (US team) had a perfect chance for a 3, and he ran it in to try get the lay-up.
Ok. Listen. Its the olympics. Its not the NBA. Finesse is nothing in Olympic basketball, and frankly, i hate what basketbal (NBA)l has become. Its just a glorified slam-dunk contest most of the time.
Basketball to me, has become a joke. Like I said, its pretty much a slam dunk contest, night after night. I know its about pleasing the fans, but i mean come on. How many times can you see the same thing before it gets annoying?
I would much rather see more 3 pointer attempts than dunks all the time.
Just my rantings anyways. i doubt anyone will agree with them.

I strongly disagree with you. Shooting 3 pointers isn't smart, and I would consider that to be "finesse". The NBA is all about physical play, and dumping the ball in down low. The fact of the matter is that it is better to make a lay up then to miss a 3 pointer. If you are not confident in your shot don't shoot it.
The US is the home to the best basketball players in the world also, don't ever get that twisted. The best players on all the international teams are all in the NBA.
As for US loosing in the olimpics... somtimes the "stars" just can't win. Thought everybody would know that from watching the NBA championship.

Re: USA Basketball Sux
vince carter should be on the dream team for sure..... Man led the last team to gold. It was also agreed upon that he was the best player on that team back then when they played 5 man american for practice with elimination.
The finals was KG vs Vince.... vince won 15-7
Words from KG's mouth went something like this after the game..... "hes on a whole other level" blah blah i cant rmmeber what he said.
uhm... ya im done my useless rambling... GO Canada!

Team USA beat Spain today 102-94 to move into the semifinals. Stephen Marbury had 31 points and 6 3-pointers.
