The cleanest way to reformat is trough WinXP.
When you restart your computer, go into the BIOS and select to boot from CD before the HDD. Now put the WinXP CD in and restart. Follow the instructions until you get to install/repair screen. Here it will find the Partition of your System and it will also show you the other partitions. select the C:Windows partitions and pres "d" then wheterver it tels you about loosing info and "L" and other stuff. This now not only clean your partition, it deleted the format of the partition too. so now you can reformat and choose to have it FAT32(must if you have something before XP) or NTFS (recomended for XP). Now press "c" on the upartitioned space and change the size of the partition or leave it as is and create a partition the way you like it, and then install your System again.

If you choose to clean the games partition, remember to create it first and then the partition to install the system to.

Good luck.

Yes it should, but if you try to get the boot sequence as fast as posible you would put HDD first, and no swaping, and fast boot. Yeah I won't have my 1GB RAm checked but I will have my XP loaded 10 seconds faster.
