Well, I thought his death was near graduation.

Cause remember it was after he beat up Flash, him and MJ had the talk in the backyard where she is like

"He (Flash) is just so happy that he didn't get a blackeye for graduation"

But you are right they don't give an exact time frame, I just know the first movie spans a longer time frame then the second.

And I would assume the 3rd movie would pick up right near the end of the 2nd.
