Then it would have been labeled a Mario clone like SFA was a Zelda clone And if the game wasn't made by Nintendo, nobody would have payed attention to it in the first place...
SMS dissapointed me too... At first the controls seemed bleh, but then I got nice and used to them... but after awhile, collecting shines and all got boring and I started to hate the level designs...
"but what the hell kind of opinion is that!?"
The Gamespot reviewer's opinion... And it's stupid saying gamespot sucks because of a couple 'bad' reviews... cuz they have a number of different people who do the reviews...
And about Tales of Destiny, while it's not as low as the score gamespot gave it, IGN gave it a 7.5... Do you hate them for that just because you like it and it didn't get an uber high score?
I've been dissapointed with like all of the big NGC games that I've played... SFA I kinda liked, but it was kinda blah... and... weird... SMS was meh, ED was ok, but nothing uber special to me like people were saying... Pikmin wasn't really a huge anticipated game, but it was a 'Miyamoto game' and I thought it blew chunks... The gameplay had potential, but the game just sucked...
These are all just my opinions, but whatever... ;o I guess I better never get a job on a popular site reviewing games or else I'll get lots of Nintendo fans PMSing about me...

So it would get a better rating and it wouldn't be the "most disappointing" game for the Gamecube? If it does, then that's just plain stupid.
|
I may not get a better rating, but it wouldn't be as disappointing, because less would have been expected of it. With all the hype around it and the way it turned out to be, it was the Most Disappointing Game of the Year. No one said it was a bad game, just a disappointment...
You got to remember when you read a review, it's an opinion and that's all. You may or may not agree, but you have to respect other's opinions.

I still haven't beated SMS (not even beated the boss). And that says a lot. I got all the 120 stars in SM64 within a month. (But that was the fist and only game we had.)

Yeah, I agree, but don't you think there were way more disappointing games on the Gamecube this year? I mean, SMS was good enough. It stood up to its hype. Also, Tales of destiny's score at IGN is perfect. I knew they gave it a 7.5 a long time ago. But a 4.5 is a horrible score.
I am sorry but I just don't think SMS was a disappointment. Although they're all opinions, there were still many disappointing games on the Cube.
For example, Jeremy McGrath Supercross World, Mario Party 4, or Cubivore. I never played those 2 games but I read the reviews and they sounded like a big disappointing games.
Jeremy McGrath Supercross World got a 2.4.
I am not telling Gamespot how to do their work but they shouldn't give a game a bad score just because they didn't like it. Some of their reviews shouldn't even be about opinions.
I might be sounding like a annoying dumbass but this is just my honest opinion. Sorry.

1. These are their damn opinions so get over yourselves and yours
2. FIgure it out, MOST people were dissapointed by Super Mario Sunshine, it introduced nothing new besides the water pack while every other Mario before introduced something or multiple things to make the game feel completely new. Even Miyamoto himself has said recently that it didn't live up to the Mario standards.
You guys are acting like the morons who email sites like this to bitch them out for not writing exactly what you thought of a game. It's their opinion and their site so you don't need to whine.

Wow.
That's the stupidest thing I have ever seen. EVAR. Reviews ARE opinions and they should be.
I'm ecstatic when a site is willing to give a game a really bad score when they think it deserves it. It means they're much more honest and willing to make a strong opinion and stand by it.

SMS most disappointing game on GC?
Oh it's an opinion. I would say SFA would be most disappointing. SMS was awesome. I loved it

SMS was just Super Mario 64 with a water pack. As manasecret said, nothing was new. They used the exact same ideas. A hub world with level warps, 120 stars/shines to collect, whenever you entered a level you had to pick a something to get that shine/star, collect 100 coins in a level to get a shine/star, etc.
It was like playing SM64 all over again. Although I can see why, as this game was intended for the N64 anyway...hopefully the next Mario will be really good.

It wasn't as good as its predessesor, I am aware of that. But it was better than almost all the other games that were released this year. Even though, it's their opinion, all I can say is they have rash opinions toward some games.

Emailing...? Who the hell is emailing? I never emailed **** to any company like Gamespot or IGN. So don't be calling people morons.

Well, it's all based on opinions, but, some reviews can be determined as facts. For example, Zelda on Gamecube has awesome graphics (artisticly). But let's just say in Gamespot's opinion that Zelda's graphics suck because it's cel-shaded. So just because they don't like the new cel-shading graphics, it'll get a lower score.
Here's another example, let's say in GTA: Vice City... The songs rule in that game, but let's pretend Gamespot hates those songs. They hate the old school 80's beats... Then just because they don't like them, they will lower the overall score.... But everyone else loved the music in Vice City.

Some of that is true and some of it is false. A game shouldn't get deducted many points for a very minor problem. That's wrong. Honestly, I don't care what they give it, and I sure don't care if they give it the most disappointing game ever created, I am just trying to prove that there were more disappointing games this year on the Gamecube than Mario Sunshine.

HAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. If you don't like a game, will you say that it is amazing? Hell No. If you don't like a game, you will say that you do not like it. End of story.

It is the end of story and I am not complaining, so let me just make a statement.
Star Fox Adventures. I didn't like it. But it's better than I say it is. I would give it a better score because of all its overall feel. Graphics and sound were perfect.
But yeah, I wont say it's amazing but I'll give it what it deserves.
I might sound like a "bitcher" but all my favorite games have always got bad ratings at Gamespot while my "not so liked" games always got great scores... Guess it is just opinions.
Gamespot and I have totally opposite taste in video game genres.
