Also, those covers look oddly familliar to the Game Gear Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 covers.

Were these games not released in the states or somthing?

Well, unless I'm wrong, they definately released them over here.

Again, if anyone read my post, someone said that the sonic series debuted on the Mega Drive, but were ported onto the SMS.

I cannot remember one single thing about any of the Mega Drive Sonics, except maybe Sonic and Knuckles.

I'll tell you what though, I will definately find out in the next couple of weeks .

Sonic 1, 2, and 3... *sigh* ...the best of the series. That's when video games were video games...

Once Sonic was moved to the Dreamcast, his whole image was changed. He took on a ghetto appearance and became a rude hoodlum. Although he still was fighting for the good of small animals I think? Never quite the same though...

Yes, then he takes those small animals he saved, gives him to his lil' bastages and then they get happier and throw the animals "away" and the small animal disappears. Then the whole process repeats itself.

I can confirm that the SMS and MD sonics were completely different. I managed to nab the first two sonics from my mate for the MD, and compared them to the SMS versions. So there you are, they are completely different.

I reckon the only reason they aren't in the compilation (as is the case with Sonic CD) is because this is a 'mega' collection, as in a collection of all the MD/Genesis sonic (related) games.

Anyhow, I think the collection is all fine and dandy. I never played the Sonic Jam game so I'm wondering how do they handle the lock on technology thingy between Sonic and Knuckles and the other games.

Some additions I wouldn't mind

-The ability to play as Shadow even if mere cosmetic.I mean he has on shoes , the different color Super form and the whatnot. Doesn't even have to fit into the plot.

-Maybe some more multiplayer options like they had in the later games on the MegaDrive maybe even four player races.

-Inclusion of Mario and Shadow in Shuffle (Even if a dream)

-Updated graphics maybe make a few levels in pseudo 3d for an added bonus.

-More boss battles

-The ability to get Hyper Sonic in the earlier games.
I had both Sonic for the Megadrive and Sonic for the Sega Master System. They were both different.

As 2 people have stated now the Sonic games on the Megadrive/Genesis were different to the ones on the Master System, I gaurantee that as a matter of fact.

But you all forgot about the third Sonic game on the Master System, yes you heard me correctly there were three. The third was Sonic Chaos and I own them all. Sonic Chaos was and is far better than the other 2 but all three deserve the re-release IMO, I would buy them.

Oh if you want to be really fussy and include any game that Sonic featured in then check out Super Monaco GP on the Mega Drive. He ran across the bottom of one of the options screens.

*More useless trivia pours from Ric's head

I have Sonic chaos for the GG .

Oh, and if any of you didn't know, which i'm sure you all do, there was an adaptor for the GG that allowed you to play ALL your SMS games on the GG.
