Re: How to Kill a Brand
Ha, you know very well when cam and I made gametavern, it was two nintendo fanboys creating a multiconsole site.
I have since become a xbox and nintendo fanboy, and sony... well... I'm still thinking about it.
Arrogance will be what brings down sony, if it does come down.

*shrug* I assume so...that's the only reason why people would react this way.
I'm just wondering why nobody has yet responded to my question...

I'm just wondering why the expression

I guess because I didn't see the point. You're so quick to point the fanboy finger with only the slightest provocation that generally, it's really not worth wasting the minute it takes to respond.
As for comparing the relative failure of the GameCube to the issues Sony's having with the PS3, I think it's a flawed analysis. One could argue that the Gamecube was their favorite system because they really liked the first party games on it. Whereas, I don't see that anybody could plausibly make a similar debate out of the PS3's software at this point. Most of the really great titles were either cross platform to begin with or are being switched to cross platform development at a steady pace.
Sony hasn't failed yet, they've sold enough systems to keep their head afloat until better software hits. The real question is whether or not they will find that killer app that makes the PS3 irresistible to to the general public. I'm not going to pass judgment, Sony has surprised before and I've no doubt they will again; it's just a matter of the degree Sony surprises and entices the public.

The PS3 was launched A FEW MONTHS AGO. How many MUST HAVE 1st party titles did the Gamecube have after a few months? Talk about being quick to point the finger...
Look, I don't need to point the fanboy finger. It's obvious at this point, and that's fine (well not really, it ruined GameTavern but that's another issue). I find it humorous and sad that this forum is no longer willing to discuss both sides of the story.

You find it funny the forum wont discuss both sides?
I find it funny the forum has a Zeig Heil attitude towards Nintendo constantly.

I never said that argument was logical either. I gave a response to you, because you got sassy and asked for one.
I just don't get offended by ignorance as much as I do by rudeness. If the Nintendo fanboys were half as confrontational about voicing their beliefs, I'd be calling them down. It's not my job to police everybody and ensure they're objective in their reasoning. I tried that at Funxbox, just ask Bond how well that turned out. Had a community of Xbox fans that really appreciated me on the forums - or at least so they outwardly made it seem so. Until I, the token Gamecube fan on the site was made the new Administrator. Then all hell broke loose.
I've given it up. I'd rather people just voice their opinions and be happy with them, as long as they're not hurting anybody else it's none of my business.

And you take the other path. You don't bother picking a side, as long as you get to insult people along the way. Not that your point is invalid, but the way you present it is less than helpful.

Clearly.
Because whatever I will say wont be correct to you.
So it doesnt really matter.
80% of the people on this forom act like young teenagers, and it's getting ****ing sickening.
A forum board is not only about game systems and talking about them, but TALKING about them. Not "talking" about them, and trying to downplay them by sales, or anything of the sort. When did how many systems sold become how good a system becomes?
If this keepsup, It's safe to say I wont continue posting on this forum (Clearly I wont be missed, since the forum is made of fanboys), and I can only assume a few will follow after me.

Re: How to Kill a Brand
You wouldn't be the first to go (obviously), nor would you be the last, as we both know.
Yet the frustrated, including yourself, continue to post here; which suggests that people want things to get better. I just don't see the method you're using doing any good. And if you know that, why continue with it instead of trying something more positive?

Typhoid to be honest, you are one of the first who come to my mind when I think of people who "act like young teenagers". What's this stuff with always comparing things to relgion and world wars?

Arent you the one who complained about a comic and swore you'd never be back, only to come back?
And those are the easiest things to compare to. Everyone knows that. It's not rocket science, and I would have hoped even you knew that.
