Re: Enter the Matrix
This game was great; it has a nice story, challenging and fun gameplay, and lots of nice extras. I felt that I got my $50 worth in it. The amount of bashing of this game is crazy, I think this game took better advantage of its license than any other Movie to game transition ever released, including Goldeneye. This game makes Matrix Reloaded more enjoyable to watch and puts me at peace with revolutions. Plus I felt that the gameplay (aside from the driving and ship flying levels) was very fun. Can't ask for any more in a Movie game.

Enter the Matrix was the greatest game I have ever played.
The only problem with the game were the horrible controls, repetitve gameplay, long load times, annoying fighting style, "doing the same crap over and over", and the very little replay value.

Re: Enter the Matrix
what do you mean by horrible controls? i had absolutely no problem with them, as for the load times while they might have broken the action a bit it wasn't really something that i would dock marks off for, and what exactly was annoying about the fighting style??
not to mention i played the game 3 times over once with each character adn once again with ghost, and i had fun each time, this is not even to MENTION the whole hacking stuff which was really interesting and very different from anything that had been released before.

Horrible controls, in which part of the game? I think the controls were above average for an action game, and it's bullet-time effects put every game before it (including Max Payne) to shame
You get to Hack, drive in a car, Shoot from the car, fly a ship, shoot from the ship, fight hand to hand, fight with guns, and fight with swords. I don't know how this fits the definition of repetitive
You must have the Ps2 version. I have played the cube version and it loads very fast, and the Xbox version is even faster. On Xbox when the game is saved to the HD it saves instantly, no wait at all
What would you have preferred? RPG turn based fighting? In this case, the fighting style fit the game correctly

I think your reasons are more repetitive then the game. Look earlier in my post and you can see my counters to these two things.

I played the Cube version, controls didn't fit in real well in my opinion. As for the bullet-time effects, yeah, they were nice, but no where near Max Payne's.
Just check out the trailer for the second game, that trailer spells out "shame" for Atari's Enter the Matrix.

Ok, by repetitve, I basically mean doing the same crap over and over again... So you can put those 2 together. Let's see, go up to an enemy, disarm, kill. That's all I did for the normal parts of the game.
As for the car driving and shooting, big deal! Driving that car and losing on that stage annoyed me rather than making me have a good time. Shooting from the cars in a game with barely any freedom is not really fun for my taste.
Hacking was just entering codes... That was a unique way of entering codes, I'll give it that, but big freakin deal, it didn't really add much to the game's fun factor.
And please, don't get me started with the ship. There is absolutely nothing fun with bumping into walls...

Nope, my PS2 wasn't working at the time, so I had to play it on my Gamecube. Not a lot of Gamecube games out there have long loading times (barely any), but Enter the Matrix took forever to load and save. As for the Xbox version, well, thank Microsoft for installing a HD along with the Xbox.

I would have preferred something much better from Shiny's $30 million game. Everything in Max payne (especially the fighting style) was much better in my opinion. Also, even a 2D game like Viewtiful Joe knows how to handle Slow motion/bullet-time effects properly with a fighting style much better than Enter the Matrix.

Maybe the "repetitve gameplay" and "doing the same crap" were almost the same reason, but everything else I said in my opinion is true. Almost everyone agrees with me, so that should prove that I am not alone. Look at the reviews for this game, that's what I call a shame. Also, I can see that you're a hardcore Matrix fan... I love the Matrix, I think it's the single coolest idea for a movie, but the game for it just sucks in many ways. The only reason this game sold more copies than it did and the only reason some people like this game is the fact that it has The Matrix in it.
