MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian man's imaginative attempt to purge a stubborn paint stain from his trousers has destroyed his apartment.



The unnamed Muscovite added a litre of petrol to his washing machine to help dissolve the stain, Itar-Tass news agency reported on Monday, but the ensuing explosion wrecked his kitchen and demolished two internal walls.


Moscow police confirmed there had been an explosion in a south-eastern Moscow apartment, but would not comment on the cause.

Police say that's just what James Kent did in Bonita Springs this week.

He's in the Lee County Jail this morning because when he went to the Lee County Sheriff's office to report a disturbance he drove there in a stolen car.

The car's owner told police that Kent carjacked a friend who was borrowing the car at knifepoint. The friend of the car owner was able to escape.

Later when Kent showed up to complain about a disturbance, deputies recognized the car as one that had been stolen.

Dear God, why would you drive the stolen car to the police station I would atleast drive another car. Or atleast wait until I painted it.
