What a travesty, the legendary Mario losing to some run-of-the-mill rpg character. What a pity.

Someone tell me why Mario should win other than the fact that his basic design and excellent game made for an easy franchise.

I'm currently addicted to Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo.
Super Fun!

Well, he's appeared in Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine in a starring role, that's 5 fantastic games right there. Then, he he has the time to be the ref in Punch-Out!, another classic and his also a ref in Tennis. He also appears in Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Dr.Mario, Mario Kart, some freaking sucessful series. Tell me when Vyse comes out with his own starring franchise, along with a kart racing franchise, a golf franchise, and a tennis franchise and maybe I'll give him the time of day. Mario sells systems, Vyse may be a cool character in a couple of games or whatever, but it's all about stamina, and Mario has been at the top of his game for over 15 years...yep...

Well, that's what I vote on for character battle things like this. I look at that character's history and games...Mario has probably been in about 6 games that I'd put in my top 50 of all time, and that's good enough for me...His design was basic because it was made 20 years ago, but I don't see how that's a downfall. He could easily have been just another character, but the fact we're talking about him now, and is still in some classic games...I dunno, I feel like that's enough.
