There is one part I guess around half-way through the game where you ride a Chocobo through this short road. Then, later, you can train Chocobos with these little mini games. Chocobos are there, just not as obvious as past games.

As for II, I just think the "levelling up" system was implemented wrong. It was a good idea, and realistic (at least more so than actually levelling up), I think they just didn't do it right and ended up making the game not nearly as good as it could have been.

He wasn't really just saving the world because he was getting payed to do it! He was saving the world because he had to. He was saving it because he was the one wrapped up in all of the things that was going to destroy it. And he was saving it to save Rinoa too. SEED was created to destroy the sorceress, the issue of getting payed never really comes up after like halfway through disk two.

what part did you get to? I mean, if you didn't see the chocobos you couldn't have been that close to the end.
as for the 'linear' story.. I don't follow you... what are you trying to say? I mean, just because you can't jump back to old areas at any point in the game it doesn't take anything away from the story imo. Also, once you beat the game you can go back anywhere easilly.
Not being able to turn back only added to the effect of the story imo. Without givning much away, most of the story turning around only seemed pointless and stupid.

that actually describes the cloud/FFVII hero much more than Squall, and its true, the levelling up system made the game MUCH to easy to reach lvl 100, and GFs had much too much of an impact on the gameplay, i mean honestly, you only have TWO chances the get the best ones in the game, and then if you don't get them, u'r pretty much screwed, as in u just miss SO much from the game.

Ahh! I thought GFs were great. Besides it's like that in all GFs pretty much you miss your chance to get a lot of things. What was so wrong with drawing spells from monsters? I thought it was great. Oh well perhaps I'm wrong. I spent so much time on that game.

I thought blitzball was great. I only made it to luca in that game, but when I was there I spent every dime on recruiting players. I loved that minigame.
My vote went to Tactics. I cant believe I'm the only one to choose it. Tactics is so good. Its the only one I've actually beat, but I have played a lot of VII and VIII, and some of X. It had a brilliant story that kept you on the edge of your seat. After each story battle, something would happen that I had no idea was going to. And with all the jobs, and the great tactical battle system, God, whats not to like? It was so much fun. Not to mention you could earn Cloud to play as, and you could even earn the legendary Beowolf!!!! Too cool for mere words to do this game justice.
