In the end, upgrading is a hassle, unless it's something minor, like RAM or HDD.

Just buy a new Pc. They are cheaper nowadays. If you can't afford that, then try an upgrade, but beware (like Null said) that you may have to upgrade more than expected.

on a newer pc they arent too hard to upgrade tho.

because when you buy the parts you know thier limits and what they can do.

like my old motherboard my older 1.6ghz computer. im not sure what it can handle in terms of processors

on this one i build (was the 1.6 chip) was easy to put a 2.66 chip in cuz motherboard box said it would handle any such P4 chip

older ones are somtimes a little more tricky. they make new ones with upgrades in mind.
