your still on broadband.

And if i understand correctly..... you just have your computer Network card is connected to a wireless device that transmits to another that is connected to your router, which goes to the internet.

basically same as any other setup, minus a wire. So if you were to say there was a wire connecting your computer to the router you still need one more thing, a network hub. (with WAN)

You internet would goto the Router, your Router plugs into the WAN port on the network hub, Say slot one goes to your wireless device that goes to your computer, While slot 2 either you pick up another wirless device or just plug a network wire from that running to your PS2.

But then again maybe i just understood you all wrong.

okok i asked this question somewhere else for help and i got an answer of this NOTE: i was not the one that wrote this, a person that helped me did.

Could this work?

The adapter goes into the back of your PS2 (That little cover that comes off). Then you can take a phone line (for dial-up), or ethernet cable (for broadband like DSL or cable) and stick it into the back of the adapter and go (well with dial-up you have to.. um dial-up). If you have just a cable modem, you'll have to take the ethernet cable from your computer and put it in the adapter. But I think your on a router, so take one of the little wireless boxes, stick it next to your playstation and plug it in, and I think you should be good to go.

yes but you have to keep plugging it back and forth from PC to PS2.

my way of just getting a network Hub with a WAN, you can have both on the internet at the same time.

USB?? good lord man. you dont want a usb network. =/

but no. PS2 cant be hooked up to the internet with USB, you need NETWORK CABLE. which is what plugs into your router. if you take a look. its a fat cable that looks like a phone line. but a little bigger.

this would plug into your network card on a pc. but if your using a usb, just ew.

Normally, heres how it works for a computer to go on broadband.

You have your [computer] you have or go buy a [network card] network card for the computer. wich has a network plug on it.

your internet comes in on whatever line it has. doesnt matter. it goes to your [router] the router decodes the signal, and outputs it thro a [Network plug]

then you have ------Network Wire------- that connects from your [network card] to your [router]

i shall illistrate.

[Computer]+[Network card] <----------Network Wire-------> [router]

Now the plug for brandband on the PS2 is same as a [network card] and you could either switch the plug back and forth. or get a [Network Hub]

the network hub splits the signal so you can plug in both ps2 and computer. Altho if you have a USB connection to internet that makes things harder.

Also final time, you should check if your router has more than 1 port before buying a hub. And you can also switch back and forth from your PS2 to your PC in the meantime.

Wide Area Network.

but that doesnt really explain it. i believe it has something to do with the hub with that assigns internal IP addresses to each computer in the network so each can go online. Not sure about that.
