Acc laim died 5 years ago in my honest opinion. They tried to make money off a game that has hookers having sex with thugs on bikes while doing tricks on bikes and watching two dogs hump eachother...
So this is actually a good thing... Well, at least in my opinion.

Re: Acclaim to Drop GameCube Support
Some games or no games from Acclaim. Won't make a difference to me. I don't think they can save themselves at all if they tried hard. Unless you get the license to the next big movie and hype the game up and then it fails to hold up to its claims. *cough*Atari

Does anybody actually buy any Acclaim games? I've never played an Acclaim game that didn't make me want to die after having played it.

Let's see...
Back in the day of the GLORIOUS SNES, Accliam made MK II, however sicne MIdway, NOT ACCLAIM now owns the lisence I no logner care. Thje last Acclaim Game I bought for a Nintendo System was ASB 2003, and honestly, I have to quote EGM's review of ASB 2004 on this one "It's fu to hit the bal;l, but in this game, you can't." Basically it was a let-down, now a "Tragic Loss" would be Konami, EA Games/Sports, or MIdway's MK Franchise, however, if Accliam winds up as the next "Square" than it'll REALLY thirst fans up for good titles, now that Square/Enix is doing FF: CC the fans are happy, and Nintendo seems to enjoy having them back, of course, Acclaim will not be missed nearly as much, in fact their loss may acutally be a good thing, the more games warming the shelves for the "Othere guy's" system, the better for Nintendo.
Also, think for a second, how many of you really wanted to play BMX XXX? If I wanted an XXX Rated game, I'd go to a porbo shop, not Best Buy, or EB.
I think losing Square was more of a tragedy than losing acclaim will be, and on that note, goodbye acclaim, come back again when you have some good games!
Seriously I don't think I have anything from Acclaim that I enjoy around here since the SNES days, might have a 64 cart,m but that'd be it.

bah, i wont miss em.
if it wasnt for this thread i wouldnt have even remembered they exist.
this ma not be a bad thing but its not a good thing either, some people generally like acclaim which is unbeleivable in its own sense.
in any case im gnna forget the exist again, atleast until someone makes another thread.

You are kidding, right???
Not just any movie could do what Enter The Matrix did, only a cult classic would sell that well. It's like if a Star wars game would have launched sided by side with the second movie (or episode 5 or w/e you want to call it).
This game is almost on lock to sell maybe as good as Goldeneye on N64, and not for the game, for the licence. Acclaim would have to take the Matrix licence from Atari to save themselves

I don't know if I heard you right. But I was talking about how the game actually plays. Not by the sales it made. My (former) friend bought the game for XBox and stopped playing it after a day or 2 because it was stupid. He would've taken it back, but EB's policy has changed so much, that he really couldn't trade it for another game.

Re: Acclaim to Drop GameCube Support
Ouch that sucks....
I do think the game is craptacular, I wouldn't suggest it to anybody who hasn't seen Matrix:Reloaded in the theaters... and/or isn't hopelessly in love with The Matrix.
Not that it's the worst game I've ever played, but I'm extremely biased when it comes to the Matrix
