I fully understand what the Conn Smyh represents in theory. Giguere, for most of the playoffs, was the most outstanding player...but he didn't (couldn't?) do enough to lead his team to a Stanley Cup. New Jersey would still be very good with another goalie, but they wouldn't win the Cup IMO without Brodeur. He shut out his opponents 7 times in the playoffs. His flawless play in those games alone won SEVEN GAMES. Gigeure is more valuable to his team (Hart Trophy points) but Brodeur outplayed him when it mattered. It's no biggie to me, since Brodeur got the trophy that really matters. I just wanted to pad my numbers in the pool
