at the time of the official ps2 release.....of course. Nowadays not really. Didn't you read all the headlines of the software:hardware ratio for Ps2? Many consoles sold, not enough s/w sales due to people wanting a cheap DVD player (and a console). I think there was a popular DVD that people were picking up @ the Ps2 launch (Matrix?) Not sure.
