Your goal as a christian is to be like Jesus and be with God. Jesus wouldnt lie, and the sooner you die, the sooner you are with God...
Of course nobody will accept Jesus and commit suicide, but you should still tell the truth.
And of course the girl wasnt trying to be a hero. She was just doing what she felt was right (as a christian, it was) and some crazy guy didnt like that....
