Its too confusing, so Im just not going to give either a chance. NPD only gets 60% of sales anyway. The other 40 is their best estimate. So really, Its their opinion that XBox did like it did, or that cube rose 150% in software sales over october.

Well, Nintendo and Microsoft of course want to look like they are winning. And of course they are probably lying. So it is hard to tell who is winning. Xbox is defiantly doing better in Australia and Europe. While the GameCube is doing better in Japan. US is kind of hard to call right now, maybe we'll know more after the holiday season.
Also, it's nearly impossible for two consoles to exactly 'tie' in sales.
