Uh... *cough* Matsus hita. If Nintendo AND Matsus hita bullied SCEA itself I bet they'd crap their pants.

Im still wondering where they got that blurred pic of mario, sonic, and megaman...because if that is offical, like Nintendo released that blurred picture themselves to tease us, It would almost have to be either a buyout of Sega and Capcom, or a game featuring those 3 characters, anything else wouldnt really fit in my mind. But if that pic is not real, which I have a feeling it isnt, than that blows my theory away.

i highly doubt Sony would give up a billion dollar company because some electronics company "bullied" them. Sony is not afraid of Nintendo, they have a HUGE lead in PS2 sales over GCN. Even if this megaton announcement was amazing, it would still take a while for it to really put a dent in PS2's sales. I dont want Nintendo doing something just to make its competition go down, i want something that makes owning a GCN really worth while.

LOL that would be funny......btw when is this announcement suppose to be?? And what can be so big that it will change the industry?? BTW where 'change the industry Nintendo's words or some fanboys' ?? All I know is that I'm not expecting that much.......the only thing i can think of is a new way to get online with the cube...............that's simple and fast for everyone to use and a pokemon rpg..........and even so, it will just boost Nintendo's sales I don't think it will change the industry....but I could be wrong.......BAH ....who knows ..........I'll take the wait and see method

I don't see how online gaming could be megaton... PS2 and Xbox are already online, and before that so was Dreamcast... plus I don't think online gaming will even be that big this generation... too many people still have 56K and don't wanna bother buying online games to play them with a crummy connection, especially if there are extra monthly fees involved... But I dunno
I'm with fingersman though, I'm not expecting much... I'm expecting something not big that Nintendo fans blow out of proportion... But I've said that like 10 times already

Most likely were going to hype ourselves up too much for this announcment and when it comes, it really won't be as megaton-ish as we expected....
Of course, that is not what I hope will happen. I hope Nintendo will blow us away, but I don't think it will be quite that major.
It should still be good, though.

Yeah, I'm with him...when is this announcement going to happen?
Suppose Nintendo announces that Gc will be their last system or that they're widthdrawing from the concole race after the GC?
Or maybe they are selling themselves to sony or Microsoft?
Highly unlikely but a possibilty. A very small one

(sorry, I came late, and read most of the replies.
I doubt seriously that it's a Sga buyout... I mean, with the announcement of no 2k4 on GCN and all
When I think of megaton... I think of a merger or a buyout. Not just one stinkin game.

It could be the space world 2000 Zelda. That would be plenty Megaton, IMO.

You know what would be a good megaton? (since we're chipping in here)
*Iwata-san comes up to the Microphone*: "Hey.............. anyone... remember... when we ganged up with Sony and Microsoft to go against Lik Sang?
Yeah... well, we.. uh...... *cough*"
*Satoru Iwata walks off stage*
And then the whole world collpases. ....or... something to that effect.
...
Hey, you never know.

My thoughts exactly... megaton is too hard to live up to... And 1 game isn't megaton... especially a spaceworld 2000 Zelda since most people seem fine with the new Zelda now, and it seems to be doing fine in Japan...
But meh... Did Nintendo even say it would be "megaton" or did they just say they had a big announcement? Or did they even say anything?

Well, it could be a Pokemon announcement. New Gamecube Pokemon online, which works in cooperation with the new Pokemon they're releasing for GBA, and also works with the GBA player, yada yada. Pokemon on Gamecube would make units fly off shelves.

yeah, but when i hear "Megaton announcement" i'm thinking "damn!!! that must be huge!!" and an online Pokemon game on GCN would never make me go "whoa!! how unexpected!! thats amazing!!", although it would be cool
