The pic came from a guy at Gaming-Age, who has been right with rumors before. The big rumor is Nintendo, Sega, and Capcom either parner up, or Nintendo buys them, and they become exclusive.
CSK (I think), who owned 22% of Sega recently sold all of their stock. Some anonymous company bought it. Guesses are Microsoft, or Nintendo. Care to use logic? Don't. Niether of them seem practical. But if they did, it wouldn't be a surprise.
There's also a rumor of an alliance of 7 developers. Who? Not sure. Would be a clever way of hinting at a Sega buyout (since Sega has multiple 2nd parties, or would they be 4th now?), but Sega has like 11 or so.
And adding to the online thing. PSO, the modem, and the BBA have all been discontinued. They are shipping again starting late December. If there was a huge online announcement, they might have stopped shipments because there will be a huge demand that they need to meet at that time. And PSO would be discontinued because selling it without the modem and BBA would cause a lot of problems, and annoyed customer service reps.
