Did you have a lot of freedom in the demo? Like were you able to do more than just going through the game? I mean like sidequests and secrets...

It'll be a while before I see it on a shelf over here anyway. We don't even have Eternal Darkness yet... just under a week away... (according to the Australian Nintendo site).

$20 off for putting down $5? If that is, I must pre-order now! But I hope to get the chance to play the demo soon. I dont think my EB has it since it only has an XBox demo thing. But I wil be getting the game anyways since its Metroid and I haven't played one in a while.

I just played it today, and I must say, I'm NOT even close to impressed with the gameplay.

Ok, maybe I only played 5-8minutes, then the game cut off in my face. ( )

It moves smooth (as expected), and it has above average visuals (also as expected).... In the Demo I played there was nothing to shoot at... it might as well have been a FPP(uzzle), cause there is no action, and I've never seen an adventure game that has a main charicter and no people around to talk to or even fight.

These are just first impressions from the Demo. It wasn't life changing, and the demo didn't even take me a step closer to buying the game.

*runs before Nintendo fans jump me*

Well Super Metroid didn't have enemies in the beginning... that was the creepy part, you go into a corridor without enemies, enter a room, get an item and when you go back there are enemies all over the place!

Perhaps you would be more impressed if you actually experienced some battles... I dunno...

[EBbashing] Yeah! They make a lot of errors on their release dates. And they always get games a day later and stuff. And they don't update their list too often. [/EBbashing]

PS:They still don't have the demo just as I expected.

I played the Demo, got pretty far into it I think, could've got father, but it cut off. I was very impressed. The graphics were pretty much the best I have ever seen in a game. Truly incredible. Ill admit the Gameplay in the Demo wasnt earth shattering, but I saw my brother get to the battle, and It looked neat...of course he was dead before he figured out he had to shoot through the shield...I think this game will end up with very high ratings. at least 9.5. And im sure it gets more difficult with more action in the real game, but, this game is a FPA, not a FPS so yea...your suppoused to take your time...

the whole "FPA" thing sounds bad

games in first person are supposed to be fast paced...lots of action. that's the way I like em at least.

I'm not saying that MP sucks, because I've never played it. But Peabody, how can you call a game the best FPS ever if you've only played the demo?

The way some people are hyping it, it BETTER be exceptional, or there will be a lot of disappointed gamers

I'm not expecting a lot from this game at all. Like DarkMaster said, it can be beat if you rent it. (not to brag, but him and I have beat many games while renting them)...and unless this game is somehow magically over 20 hours (I doubt it will even be 15..prolly like 10 or less if you know what to do), I aint buying it. And I really dont see a reason to blow your money on this unless you know you'll want to play it over and over.

Pretty much any game could be beat while renting, depending on how many days you have it for, and if you play like a crazy lunatic for 8 hours a day or something...but I like taking my time with games, enjoying everything they have to offer...and Metroid will have plenty of joy to be offered. Who knows, it might be longer than we think.

i still feel like the FPA thing is kinda stupid, they should have just made the game third-person. sure, it may play amazingly in FP but wouldnt it still be better in TP? its kinda hard to really go on an adventure through FP, like ther wont be any cool dynamic camer angles (maybe during cut scenes, but meh), you wont be able to rotate the camera all around yourself and zoom out to see and enjoy the beauty of the areas (unless theres some camera control that i'm not aware of).

i think a First Person Adventure is more of an oxymoron, like Stu said FP games are suppose to be fast paced and full of crazy action (not that MP wont have lots of action), its not suppose to be about big time exploring, its suppose to be about searching for the next arsehole that you can shoot the crap out of and just go nuts.

The whole concept just sounds strange, but some of the movies i've seen for MP looked pretty good. I'll give it a good rent.
