TheGame, if Sony has a monopoly, you don't 'honestly' think they won't do what Nintendo has done with the handheld market and Microsoft with the PC software market...
If Sony has a monopoly, it wont be any different from nintendo's (handheld), or Microsoft's (software).
I'm not even goint to think of picking which company I would rather have run a monopoly on the games market.
If there is a monopoly, expect higher priced consoles, software, and fewer technical jumps.
Oh, and I know you said you woudn't want any type of monopoly, but just stop and think, Sony wouldn't be doing what it is now.
