I am on Chapter 10, Edward Roivas. Just starting him, about 8 hours into the game. I'm not really rushing, but there is more stuff I could be reading and such. My time is also short because many times I explore, and then die. then just get what I need and don't spend so much time going through everything, or figuring out what to do.
And yes, it's best to try and figure everything out. I did need my guide for the end of chapter 9 though. But at the IGN boards, these people are asking questions everytime they get stuck, at all. Some of them were so obvious too, you know they aren't really experiencing the game.
