Marc, and E_petit. Going by their names they don't sound very dangerous. Of course...names can be deceiving.

I'll be sure to watch out for these members...

Is he a mod or something? How can he change?

BTW, how many posts do you have to have to get a custom title under your name?

You don't really know until you've popped the game into your GCN and give it some good playing time.
You did not just say that...

I'll let it slip this time. But if you mess up again, I'll be forced to sick Black Mage's Bolt 2 on your sorry ass.

Err... Fran loves the game, Matt won't stop playing the game. I've watched the movies and can't possibly wait. Just heard from Brian Vienneau at N-Philes.com who said this game is insane.

DAMNIT I WANT ME ED!!!!!

Oh, and if you live in Seattle, try to pick one up from NOA. This kid went there and got the game for $40. He could be lying, but he did make scans, so he got the game somehow. http://boards.ign.com/message.asp?to...487&replies=93

Well my order from EBgames is now in processing, so I might have it sooner than expected. It went in processing with NWN and shipped that night. So I might have it tomorrow, or Monday, as long as they do indeed have it in.

God I can't wait. ED ownz me.

Like thatmariolover, I have vbeen anticipating this game since it's announcement on the N64, and from the looks of it, it should be mind blowing. I'm so glad I got me an NTSC cube Heh.

Oh, by the way Biohazard, you wont have to worry about Marc/E_Petit/The Ibrox Fox/Nova, as he isn't around these days, infact, he left...

Ah! Where did my coloured stars go  .

Infact, where did everyones stars go ...?

From the RB catalog
Behold a unique genre: the "psychological thriller." As the player's "sanity meter" drops, both the character and player will question what is real and what is merely in their head. Characters will react to their enviornemt according to their mental state.

"Even as the door swings open you know something is terrribly wrong. The creaking sound seems too loud, magnified by your fear, perhaps. By the light of a lone candle you see a small study, filled with books and scattered papers. And shadows. Too many shadows. Your heart rate doubles, triples. Dark shapes dance in your periphery but disappear when you whip your head to look at them. Suddenly the room seems smaller, darker, asnd there are more noises now...whispers and inhuman giggles dripping with malice. The fear consumes you.
err... GIMME!!! I want this game so badly.

To kill the time until ED comes out, I recommend going back and watching IGN's commentary on the game, from way back at E3 2001. Denis mentions it's a launch title and we'll see it in November...

I was interested in ED a little bit when it was announced for N64. I mean, I love RE, and it can't possibly be as bad as Silent Hill. But when I saw these videos, my thoughts completely changed on the game, and I was sold, and will be Denis' little bitch forever. Anyway, here's a link to all the movies, and if you have a slow connection, basically what they talk about. A great way to pass the time for just a couple more days

Movie #1
Denis mentions that many people think they simply converted ED from the N64 game, but that's not true. They wrote the code from scratch and used a subset of the Too human engine. He goes on to say that there's a great number of detail put into the game. He mentions that if you were actually to look at some of the torn out pages of the books that you could actually read them. Then he shows the targeting system.

Moivie #2
Denis explains the sanity system. When you see the enemies, you begin to lose sanity, so you can't just run from them. The only way to regain your sanity is to kill them, and get some confidence. If you just run, you will go insane and die.

Movie #3
He explains that Gamecube uses raytrace lighting, and not your typical polygon lighting. And that there's actually geometry in the windows, and outside. Then he shows that the players actually react to the enemies, and turn their head and watch them. The characters can have over 80,000 facial animations, and always watches the enemies at all times.

Movie #4
The clip starts with 2 zombies attacking each other. He explains that if the zombies get mad at each other, they will begin to attack each other. This way the player has to think, and if there's a room full of 20 zombies, they shouldn't have to do much fighting if they play it right. He then talks about load times. The Gamecube can actually load faster than the N64. They put in a 1/8 second delay and a fade effect, because after testing it, they found players weren't able to mentally register that they were in a new room that quickly.

Movie #5
They show off a couple sanity effects. Of course, they also incorporate some great Hamlet. Then he says that players like to start going insane at first to see what happens, but then they realised the sanity effects can be really bad "doo-doo" and stopped trusting the game, but they didn't show that stuff at E3.

Movie #6
This clip is rather interesting. He shoots the arms off of 2 zombies, and this weird effect happens and they die. In the process, he loses health, magick, and sanity. And if you have a room of 20 zombies, it will clear the entire room, but you take an even bigger hit.

Movie #7
This movie shows the intelligent camera system. The first time he enters and room and begins fighting, the camera is in a position that's optimised for fighting. But if he leaves the room and come back, the camera travels through the rafters, which he is also very proud of. All of the individual boards in the rafters are modeled, and detailed. They left nothing out.

Movie #8
Candles all have radiocity lighting. And the weapons are affected by the geometry. So when you're using a bastard sword in a narrow hallway, and won't be able to do any fighting. So you need to think about which weapons to use.

Movie #9
Shows some of the facial animations. Shows the reactive animation system. the torch pops as he walks by and he turns his head and looks at it. also shows the combos in the fighting system.

Movie #10
48khz sound, above CD-quality, complete surround sound. And lots of rolling volumetric fog.

Movie #11
The 3 paths! Which will you choose? AHHH!!!! He's a zombie!

Movie #12
Contrary to what Minority Report wants you to believe, you don't want to run. If you run, you get tired, and then you can't do combos, and attack slower, etc. Walking is much more realistic, so do it. This is not RE. The character also begins looking at an enemy before the camera shows him on screen. Always gotta be thinkin.
