Halo 2: Fall 2003

The latest issue of the Official UK Xbox Magazine has the first official news on Halo’s sequel. As mitchy1690 revealed for the very first time in our forums, UK OXM chatted with Xbox general manager J. Allard while at E3. "There's a full sequel to Halo in the works at Bungie," Allard told UK OXM, scotching rumors of a Halo 1.5 online version of the original game.
But this full sequel won't be available until Christmas 2003, since Bungie is committed to release another 'killer app' and not just a second part. You bet Halo 2 will finally feature an online component. "Xbox Live will play a massive part in Halo 2," said Allard.
Issue 05 of Official UK Xbox Magazine also includes 'Halo: The Untold Story', a UK-exclusive video presentation included on the Game Disc. 'Halo: The Untold Story' contains previously unseen and unavailable behind-the-scenes footage detailing the game’s creation. If you live in Europe, suscribe now to the Official UK Xbox Magazine.

Online play was supposed to play a huge part in the original. Like I said, Microsoft is the cause of all the evil in the world.

Have you actually tried Halo, gekko? Online or not, it was one of the best games of 2001, and IMO, the best FPS of all time.
I mean have you really played Halo? From start to finish on more than one difficulty setting...

Gekko has an Xbox Biohazard, and I know Halo is one of the games that he owns. I also thought Halo was a great FPS, the best game of 2001 in my opinion. But I wouldn't call it the best FPS of all time.

Hell no. Played through most on normal, have no interest playing the rest. You don't need to beat a game numerous times to know if it's any good or not.
And Halo isn't that great. It should've been much better, until MS, the evil of the world, bought Bungie.

Haha... I remember not too long ago Bond gave me a "guarentee" that this game would come out by the end of this year.
Oh well.. HALO was an amazing game... and with online, it will be 10 times better.

Hey I didn't 'gaurentee' you it was coming out at the end of this year. I just said that was what most of the Xbox community was thinking. But it's almost too good to be true.

He has an Xbox and Halo (Like Bond said ). And though it was a very good shooter bordering on fantastic, I couldn't help but noticed it would have been that much better in many more ways than the Xbox version if it were released on the PC, or even if the Xbox had a keyboard and mouse. IF Halo is still coming out for Mac and PC (last I heard it was, but the scenes been pretty quite), I will definately pick the game up (again ) with the GF4, or maybe if it takes that much longer, the GF5 ...
Though it is a matter of opinion, I just cannot think Halo of being the 'best FPS of all time'.

I haven't played very much Halo, but from what I hear it seems a little rushed. Hopefully the sequel will fix the problems of the first one.

Halo was in development for years, it was not rushed. If your talking about it not including online play like the PC version was to, that is because the Xbox was not yet online capable. Other than that it was not rushed.

Since when was being in development for years, related to rushing? Everything I've read points to rush city.
Halo wasn't rushed like they made it in 6 months, Halo was rushed like they didn't get to do a lot of the stuff they had planned. They cut it down to get it done faster.

Well, I was thinking the same thing just because a game been in production for years doesn't mean it wasn't rushed *cough SuperMan 64 cough*
On the same token when a game doesn't include everything it has planned it doesn't me it was rushed either, I mean I've never actually seen a game designer say they were able to include everything they wanted. Hence there are generally sequels.
