The Number 23 - Nice! I didn't expect much of it, so I was really surprised.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi - documentary about the best sushi maker of Japan (/the world). That guy is 85 and has been making sushi since he was 10. His tiny restaurant has gotten all 3 Michelin stars. It's a fascinating into Japanese culture.

Departures - very impressive and touching movie about a Japanese guy who ends up as some sort of undertaker (he prepares the bodies for the ritual).

Iron Man 3 - entertaining and nice to look at. A bit overhyped, but that might just have been because of IM 2.

Oblivion - Really enjoyed.
Oz the Great and Powerful - Not bad.
Stake Land - Like a better acted Walking Dead but with vampires instead of zombies. Also a bit like The Road...but with vampires.
The Heat - Average buddy cop movie. Enjoyable for what it is.
Monsters - For a movie called Monsters there sure was a lack of them. Still enjoyed.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Eh. Ok. Cute.
Star Trek Into Darkness - Really fun movie. Haven't seen Wrath of Khan so maybe I'd be as bitter as everyone else had I.
Dreamcatcher - Starts great and devolves into stupidity. I did really like the aliens though. Worth watching for Morgan Freeman's crazy eyebrows alone.
Pain & Gain - Michael Bay at his finest. Good stuff.
It's a Disaster - If you want to watch a dark comedy, this gets dark. A couples brunch gets interrupted by the end of the world.
Hollywoodland - Good detective flick. Affleck would make a great Bruce Wayne based on this. Still can't see Batman.
Stoker - From the director of Oldboy. His first American movie. Stars another actor who was considered for Bats. Fantastic looking movie. Almost an art film. Just looks great. The story and acting however....ehhhhhhh. Seen almost everything Park Chan-wook has done. This probably in the bottom two for me.
Big Trouble in Little China - God damn this was a fun movie. How did it take me this long to see?
The Expendables - Found it mindnumblingly boring.
The Game - Good goodie good good.
Now You See Me - Wanted to like this based on the premise but man did I hate this movie. Just...gah, stupid. And not a single likeable character either.
Zodiac - Once again Fincher is great.

I've also watched a few movies recently (I tend to only watch good movies, so not much negatives)

Trollhunter - Norwegian urban fantasy movie. It's basically shot documentary style, where a group of college students follow around a "troll hunter." Really great movie, with surprisingly great special effects.

Ip Man - Chinese movie about Ip Man, the guy who trained Bruce Lee. I'm pretty sure a TON of liberty was taken with revising historical events, and there's a big anti-Japanese slant (American movies do the same thing with Russians,) but it was still super good. Really great choreographed fight scenes, and they didn't go for the close up camera that prevents you from seeing what's going on during action scenes.

Headhunters - Stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the guy who plays Jaime from Game of Thrones. He was probably the reason we started watching this, but it turned out to be one of the best movies I've seen recently. It's a fast paced thriller, but what I think sets it apart from other movies is the amazing character development.
