I think two pissed off black girls assaulting you by jumping over a counter into a restricted, employee-only location at a private business in Greenwich Village, NY is a little different than just being slapped by a girl.

If someone is willing to jump over a counter like that and attack a cashier...who knows if they are packing a weapon or willing to quickly escalate the situation. Doesn't make the extended pipe-beat down okay, but I don't blame the guy for whacking 'em once or twice.

This is obviously a KFC in an Islamic country or neighborhood. Muslims are not allowed to touch any part of a pig, so his frustration is natural, and considering the guy was filming when he asked for bacon I'm pretty sure the author knew the reaction he would get.
