It also has more maps than the average map pack. People will buy it because COD4-2 is the most popular game out at the moment, and most likely will be until Halo Reach.
People will bitch, because that's what people do online. Besides, it's cool to hate Activision these days. The only thing I'm curious about is why they choose to release the "most expensive map pack." I would imagine it can't be good for marketing. Releasing 3 new maps for 800 points would be the usual price, and then releasing 2 COD4 maps for 400 would likely be considered a "cheap" map pack, but likely wouldn't generate all the criticism.
Needless to say, I'll pick it up.

I guess when you put it that way, it does sound better, but on the same hand, that also always you options.
I think the problem is.. one 10 bucks for 3 maps is still too much, but these as far as I know are just straight up bringing the maps from 4 to MW2. Not changing them or re-skinning them
And people will buy, that's why Activision can get away with it. People will bitch and moan, and send Activision the money, and they'll do it next time as well.
I don't hate them for doing it, honestly, they are in the business of making money.

Re: COD4-2 Impressions
You say Activision can get away with it like they're doing anything illegal. Only thing they should apologize for is stealing my party chat Personally, I would've liked to see this split into 2 packs and given the option to buy only one, but I still would've bought both. It would just help get more gamers who are short on cash playing the new maps.
As for the COD4 maps, depending on what changes they made to their engine, it would be really easy, or really annoying to port over. I would like to see it get a slight graphical upgrade, but it will be interesting playing these maps with the new perks. The way I see it, fans were asking for them, and they got them. No reason to complain.

Re: COD4-2 Impressions
So the Stimulus package is out, and awesome (as expected). Crash and Overgrown have been slightly upgraded, but not a big overhaul or anything. They both have changed textures in certain areas, like the ground is now full of cracks where it used to be smooth. The mounted M249s were replaced with miniguns, which will be interesting.
Crash got a bigger upgrade in general, with tons of clutter added to the inside of many houses. Walls that used to be bare are now filled with racks of computers, bikes, lamps, book shelves, posters, etc.
The biggest difference I noticed on overgrown was the colors are all slightly different, as if they changed their gamma correction. Also, I noticed they have particles simulating dust inside of their volumetric lights... awesome!

Re: COD4-2 Impressions
Yeah this is a stimulus package for Activision...I'm not paying $15 for a map pack.
But anyway...apparently there is a double xp event starting today. Is that for every map or just the new map pack?

Re: COD4-2 Impressions
So looks like there is a bug with the new maps. Also form what i've read at a number of places, there isnt enough meat to warrant the $15 price tag. Ill probably wait to see if the price comes down.
