I mean sure I was going to get the game anyhow, but the multiplayer just looks so damn awesome.
The four player tower was insane and never dawned on me for that to work.
It was pretty hilarious watching the guy playing Luigi doing a Leroy Jenkins and getting everyone else killed.
The game looks like a ton of fun. Another thing I like is how you collect the large coins, and then can spend them to learn secrets and hints about the worlds.

And... spoilers... about the coins
The coins are also used to unlock stages in a special World 9, if you collect all the coins in World 1, you unlock 9-1, world 2 is 9-2, etc.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii
SO good, I mean so far I've only played multiplayer, but it isn't as bad as you would imagine. Especially once you start to work together.
Better impressions later.
And here's later
So spent.. like.. I don't even know how long playing co-op with some friends.
Of course it started off rocky, but as it went on we started to mesh better. There are a lot of things that enhance co-op. Such as picking up friends.. sure you can toss them into pits, but we used it to negate screen presence on tiny platforms, and of course for hard to reach stars.
Also something that is cool, is if you have a star and pick up or are picked up, the second person also gains the star ability as well.
I really didn't have any issues with the pauses, sure I noticed them and even in mid-air never really threw off my timing. Some of the castles are pretty cruel with 4 players, but we made it through. I believe we were at the start of world 6 when I left.
