4th of July should be fun.

I'm gonna start off with a 9.3 mile run (15k) because I'm running a 15k next weekend and I want to have an idea of how it will go.

Then I'll get back in time to watch the Nathan's Hot Dog eating competition live on ESPN at noon! Maybe it's anti-patriotic, but I'm rooting for Kobayashi!

I think I'll be going to a wine tasting at a local vineyard after that where a jazz band is playing. Red, White, and Blue they call it. Red wine, white wine, and bleu cheese, yum!

A friend of a friend is having a party which is apparently a pretty big shindig with a fairly professional fireworks rig, so I may check that out.

Anyway, God Bless the USA and peace out Palin! Good riddance, even though I think we will probably have to hear from you around 2011-2012

Gonna celebrate the 4th this year in Paris.

Been here for a few weeks and have seen that France cannot even be compared to the US, although the younger drinking age and lenient laws on public consumption of alcohol should be adopted back in the states, ASAP.

Will start the day off by going to a few of the english speaking bars; Great Canadian, Irish, Scottish, and English bars, but no American Themed bars as far as I know.

A few good friends are coming in from Amsterdam, so will catch up with them too, then finish off the day at Unighted by Burn Energy Drink, a french rave sorta thing. Armin Van Buuren and David Guetta are headlining.

How so?

Anyway, I spent my 4th footloose and fancy free as my girlfriend was out of town for the weekend. So what did I do in her absence? What else?!

I drank beer and ogled beautiful women. Ahhhhhhh America.

On the 4th I attended the beer tour serving free beer at Houston's oldest microbrewery, Saint Arnold, (one of) the patron saint(s) of brewers.

They brew some very tasty brews. My beer of choice for the day? Their summer seasonal --

If you're ever in Texas and find yourself ordering a beer, ask for Saint Arnold. You will either get a blank face from your ignorant server and you can be satisfied in your superior inside knowledge, or you will get a knowing yes and you can be satisfied together with your server in your superior inside knowledge. I recommend any of their seasonals especially, and any of their regulars except Amber.
